Hey I have a quick gif question. How on earth do you do coloring cause I've tried everything and my GIFS look blotchy and grainy :/

hmm i am gonna publish this cus other ppl have asked me this before

HONESTLY i have no set way of coloring but I tend to use a curves layer to get the lighting I want. Then I do lots and lots of solid color fill layers, changing the opacity and layer effects ((soft light is my favorite and I hardly go above 50% opacity)). sometimes I add a selective coloring layer if something needs work. I honestly just mess around with solid color fills until I get something that I like.

If I have a coloring that I like but it’s not working (like when I go to save it becomes grainy or low quality) I’ll add a color layer that matches the background and then I’ll set it on lighter color (and change the opacity a bit) so that way it lowers the amount of colors used in the background and often saves me from cutting down the size of my gifs or making them black and white. here's an example

TL;DR version:

use solid color fill layers and mess with the layer effects and opacity

don’t overdue colors

avoid blue on big gifs, will cut your quality immensely
