                 oh, great. and here she comes back. he’s deciding to IGNORE it-- until this PSYCHOTIC tiny asshole is having the NERVE to steal his damn cigarette right out of his damn mouth. slamming the weight down the second WATER comes flying in his face, however. anger flies through him like a raging wildfire and it’s a wonder he doesn’t throw the entire thing AT her. “what the HELL is your PROBLEM?” wiping the water from his eyes, grinding his jaw before he’s grabbing the open can of beer he also had next to the water and throwing the entire contents of it at her face. crushing the empty can in his hand, billy’s chucking it at her head. Nancy rubbed her eyes, trying to stem the oncoming headache as she smooshed her face farther and farther into her chem textbook. Taking regular sabbaticals from school might be good for her mental health but not for her memory retention on cell regeneration. 

Pulling her face out of chapter three, it was only then that she noticed that there was someone sitting adjacent from her at her study hall table.

           even after a month of living here , he still felt as out of rhythm as he had the first week or so - when his body clock was refusing to stop ticking along to san diego time. he’d felt like death every morning for a week , hauling himself out of bed for school while the sun said it was seven but his body said it was four am. the house across the street kept chickens and their rooster , without fail , screeched at dawn every morning. he was going to wring its neck or hit it with his car       whichever was easier.

it was the reason for his bad mood that was only slightly alleviated by the fact that he’s found a music store with a decent selection. in hawkins , it’s the closest thing to a miracle. most of what he’s sifted through he already owns , but there are some older tapes he’s been meaning to replace anyways. the bell over the door chimes when it opens and his eye twitches at the noise , but billy only glances up from the crate he’s flipping through when a familiar perfume wafts his way.     “  hey , burkhart. you hitting up shelby’s tonight?  ”
