CHRIS CROCKER – “Grandma Crocker responds to Trump supporters” – 20 March 2016 Video uploaded by fan “madringking1119” of notorious former YouTuber Chris Crocker asking their nearly-famous grandmother about Trump’s followers. Once known as the “‘Leave Britney Alone’ Guy,” Crocker identifies as transgender but since leaving the queer scene of L.A. has to pretend to “look” cis male for safety reasons in their hometown of Bristol in Northeast Tennessee (which for some reason was recently visited by the GEICO Gecko), a region that’s also the home of Trae Crowder (“The Liberal Redneck”) and the former home of Carla Lewis (@manicsquirrel) and her spouse. Since then Crocker have dabbled in gay porn, starred in the documentary Me @ The Zoo, released a few more EPs and CDs, and worked with Todrick Hall, RuPaul and Jay Leno, financially supporting their once-homeless, Iraq veteran, ex-teen mom. Oh, and they quit YouTube for the less-trolly Facebook and Instagram, one of which is the source of the above video.
Happy birthday eve, Christine “Chris” Crocker, turning 28 tomorrow! Yeah-up, the person known as the “‘Leave Britney Alone’ Guy” from 2007, who said he was trans last decade, announced last May to Wetpaint.com he was in the beginning stages of transitioning, starting with some minor FFS. (Crocker still uses he/him pronouns.) Since then he has removed his entire library from YouTube, preferring Facebook and Instagram for his video rants and advice. It was his old channel which brought him to the attention of Dan Savage eight years ago, with the first national news coverage through The Stranger magazine. Subsequently his legion of fans known as “Crockstars” have been scrambling to locate the lost videos they don’t have in their collections; two channels that still have his old work (albeit from before 2010) can be seen here and over here.
