Off in a different Nexus district, Jalynn was currently running back and forth with a clipboard in hand. Sending papers, making papers, and checking on everything, the poor girl was so tired she almost wasn’t paying attention to her next task. “Miss Jalynn, could you please check the coding in Simulation-0432? We think there might be a bug.” The ginger blinked out of her tired state, smiling warily as her automated voice spoke out from her headband. “On it, sir!” It chirped its usual Siri-like voice. With that, she left the room to do as she was told. ———— “Excuse me, can you set me up in the Simulation?” Jalynn asked a couple scientists who seemed to have been busy working ot the kinks in their programming. One of them looked up, nodded, and signaled her to step into a teleporter. “Careful Ma’am, we’re still not sure where the bug is.” She nodded back, smiling. “Don’t worry, that’s why i’m here.” A bit of waiting and dizzy teleporting later, Jalynn stepped foot in a rather... concrete area. Vines grew around false stone walls, windows were smashed broken or missing, it all looked so.. real. She looked around in awe, having never been in such a ruin-like simulation before. “Alright! Time to find that bug!” She hopped off the teleporter and ran straight ahead, excitement kicking into her veins. ———— It’s been a while. She hadn’t found the bug yet, and she was starting to worry. Had it already escaped? Or perhaps corrupted the program? Will she be able to escape the simulation anymore? She looked down at her clipboard, thoughts swimming in her head. “Maybe I’m not cut out to be—“ “Hello.” A sudden voice jolted Jalynn ot of her thoughts as she turned around. Has someone else has entered the simulation? Does that mean she’s failed? Is she going to lose her job? It takes a while for her to register the person in front of her. She was so.. glitchy. The darkest code made out this girl’s hair, while the lighter bits lost their color up to half her arms, showing off obvious binary code that shined a bright green. Her green eyes glisten with curiousity as she stared intently at the scientist. “You’re rather interesting. You speak, but your mouth doesn’t move. How do you do that?” She asked, a bit of glitch hinting at her voice as well. The ginger struggled to answer, but at the worst timing her tiredness sets in, only just then figuring out who this mysterious girl was. Jalynn knocked out cold on the concrete with a last concious thought. “She’s the bug in the code. The Simulation Error.” ———— Unintentionally, this mini story became a bit longer than I thought. It was completely out of the blue, but I enjoyed writing it as much as drawing the picture!
