A re-design of the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter
Out of a long-standing frustration with the given Ministry of Magic in canon, I spent several months back in early 2020 (and after) making a redesign loosely based on the real-life UK government. Since I've lost any and all interest in creating new stories for Harry Potter as a whole, I don't have a use for this system anymore. So hereby you're very welcome to use anything under the cut for your own fiction. An attribution would be nice, but honestly, it's not necessary.
For clarity: this is the last non-fic post I will do regarding the HP franchise and JKR. I might change my mind, but I just want to wash my hands of this absolute shitshow already. All of it's been soured for me. I might finish the works I've started. Don't count on it.

House of Lords equivalent. There's no House of Commons.
A collection of the people who call the shots in the Ministry and their personnel, in order to collect ideas, consider recent events and progress constructively.
Service in this context refers to the work of a civil servant in service of the government.
Responsible for setting the level of and paying MPs’ annual salaries, paying the salaries of MPs' staff, drawing up, reviewing, and administering an MPs’ allowances scheme, providing MPs with publicly available information relating to taxation issues, and determining the procedures for investigations and complaints relating to MPs.
Provides training, legal and policy advice, human resources, communications and administrative support.
Hears appeals against the findings of internal disciplinary proceedings brought against members of the Aurors.
Deal with compensation claims from people who have been physically or mentally injured because they were the victim of a violent crime.
Appoints magistrates, AKA judges who deal mainly with minor offences and preliminary hearings. Could perhaps be sent out across the country to conduct local trials.
International organisation for promoting and building lasting relationships between Wizarding Britain and the rest of the Magical World. Separate from the ICW because the Council acts directly in Britain's best interest while the ICW acts in global best interest.
Specifically for protecting people from infectious outbreaks (like Dragonpox) and other health threats.
The people who ensure St. Mungo's healers and workers are trained and certified to be there.
Would approve and register (conventional and legal) apprenticeships.
Responsible for establishing rules and rulebooks for popular/established national and international sports such as Quidditch. Also responsible for inputting safety measures and procedures and working with the Department of Justice to ensure large public events related to sports are kept safe.
Responsible for overseeing (sending people to oversee) Apparition exams and handing out Apparition Licences.
Compiles and analyses statistics and uses them to calculate the financial costs of risks and uncertainty.
Addenda:
a. Perhaps not necessary, as Wizengamot seats appear to be inherited. However, it may be prudent in the case of a family dying out to have a selection process for 'reputable' families to fill the seat(s) left empty.
b. Applicable to Hogwarts, Apprenticeships, independent Masteries and more.
c. Optional, given the existence of an overarching copyright tribunal, in this case. But if you enjoy whimsy...
d. 'Moving arts' refers to magical/living paintings.
e. Upon the events in the books, in which it is clear the Ministry has a lot of control over this publication. I consider it Ministry-owned.
f. It's pretty self-evident the treasury would (at least) be partially managed by Gringotts and the goblins.
Uhh yeah that's it. Hope this helps someone! Again, feel free to use it, I'm not doing anything with it and mi casa es su casa. etc.
