Cora was up at the station again. Leave it to her to get caught for some bullshit again. She’d been acting out since the fire. And he was the closest thing they had to a guardian at that point. And that was his own doing. So when he got the call in class from Cora that she was locked up again, and that he had to bring over some bail money for her, he was hardly surprised. 

He pushed the door open, and walked up to the counter. Guess they were short-staffed. 

“Hey,” he said, leaning forward, impatient. “Hello?”

Melissa let out a soft sigh. She couldn’t wait to get off of her feet and go home and make dinner. She knew she’d have Stiles for the night, it was almost routine during the weekends, either Stiles would stay at her house with Scott or Scott would go over to John’s and they’d switch. It gave the adults a nice break and the kids to spend enough time together. 

So she draped her coat over her arm and her purse over her shoulder and knocked gently on the door frame to Claudia’s room. “We gotta get going now, okay, kiddo?” She asked, leaning against the door frame. She wasn’t sure what time Scott’s afters chool program carpool was dropping him off and they needed to get back.
