"but what if i hurt it," he asked incredulously, unable to tear his sight from the stray kitten he had happened upon. he had been crouched near the creature for five long minutes, contemplating how to reach out and carry it to safety. 

the kitten's fur was matted thick with dirt and had an obvious limp--jihoo guessed that the kitten had made forceful acquaintance with more than one foot in the busy seoul streets. it mewled softly, still managing to sound innocent despite its state of despair. "shh, don't worry kitten, i'll keep you safe," he reassured the small creature. 

jihoo turned to the stranger. "what do i do," he questioned, worrying at his bottom lip.
