Aside from the adrenaline feeling you get when climbing a mountain, one of the best experience is making friends with new people and 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘬 — it is one of the highlights in Mt. Makiling.

Limatiks, among other local names, are leeches that inhabit Philippine forests. These are blood-eating, parasitic mountain leeches belonging to the subclass Hirudinea.

Despite their nuisance — finding them inside your socks, stained red with blood or inside your eyes, ears and other orifices, they are largely harmless. But to prevent them from getting to your skin, use proper clothings like leggings and rash guards or use chemicals like Off lotion, rubbing alcohol, and even our favourite ointment — Betet and Vicks VapoRub!

They are just smol squishy creatures that gets excited when they see hoomans! Don't be afraid of them.

The best three-day no sleep trip.

Today I was craving for some cinnamon rolls. Since the start of this pandemic, all establishments were closed. Thankfully, some stores are still catering online services and I am glad that I was able to order some from a local store.

Thinking back to old memories, I remembered the last time I had cinnamon rolls from my favourite shop and that time I was a 3-day old newborn baby Zombie.

It was at 03:08 AM on September 12, 2019. I was at the airport waiting for my flight back to my work place where I had a meeting to attend to, on the same day.

I just came from one of the unforgettable nights of my life — attending the The 1975's A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationship concert tour. My attending the concert was not known to my dad since he'd kick me out for spending so much money for concert and plane tickets. But oh well, best night of my life.

I work at a 3-hour bus ride away from the city and airport. Since it was work week, I had to travel for three hours. I took the bus the night before my flight and spent a night at a friend's place in the city. My flight to Manila was early so I didn't indulge myself in sleep and spent the remaining time talking with my friend.

My arrival in NAIA was early and business establishments were just opening, and since a friend I called just got home from a night's duty, I didn't bother another person's sleep, so I stayed for a few hours at the airport — did my presentation for the next day's meeting. At lunch, I was able to meet a friend and spent the remaining afternoon catching up with each other. In the early late afternoon, I decided to take the ride to MOA. But experiencing Metro Manila, I spent most of my time on the road due to the heavy traffic and on a workday. I was late for our early dinner with friends I attended the concert with, yet we still managed to get a table at an Eat-All-You-Can restaurant.

We arrived in time to know that the "front seats" were already filled with excited fans. Not to our advantage but that was the closest that we could get. The rest of the night was history. One unforgettable and best history experienced. My fan girl heart was full and exploding with emotions. It was a two-hour show but it ended so quickly at an hour before midnight. I went straight back to the airport after saying our farewells and spent the rest of the hours waiting for my flight back — continued working on my presentation.

And that is how I remember having my last cinnamon snack at my favourite cinnamon rolls shop. My three-day no sleep was all worth it.

Journey to the Playground of the Gods ⚡

Standing at 2,926 meters above sea level (masl), Mt. Pulag is the highest mountain in Luzon, and the third highest mountain in the Philippines. According to pinoymountaineer, its climb difficulty is 7/9, making it a major climb. Dubbed as the "Killer Trail", the Akiki Trail is a very challenging route because of its steep slopes.
