Starts the summer before Senior year when Rachel and Quinn find themselves working together but by the time school starts, things have drastically changed. Not necessarily for the best. Eventual Faberry. Rated M for later chapters.
I loooved this story! Something about it just hit almost right away. I think they captured the Quinn/Rachel dynamic quite nicely and then really allowed you to see things shift between them. It was simply a good time!
Should Have Asked for Directions by dylanhart and Beautiful When You Don't Try by itwasadream are the two greatest fanfics I have ever read to this day.
P.s. yes I've read much better literature and fanfiction from an objective sense. But this isn't what I mean here. It's beautiful and nostalgic and I love them and they make me feel nice.

Do you know how long we have been apart? 181 weeks. It feels as if there should be a few zeros added on to that. It feels like an eternity since my day has been brightened by your message. An eternity since my soul has lit up at the thought that you love me. An eternity since Iv felt real happiness. I’m trying to get used to the feeling of emptiness. I know there are many more weeks of emptiness to come.
I remember once, while you were still at Uni, you had a nightmare that your father passed away. You spent the whole day crying. You were so upset that you couldn’t even explain to your parents what was wrong.
I should have known then what that meant. I was that nightmare that was separating you from your parents. How could you have ever been happy with me? I don’t think you would be as upset as you were that day if I really passed away lol.
I wish my circumstances would have been different. I remember there was a man here in the community who got married and moved to the Uk to be with his wife. He had an older brother who looked after his parents, which allowed him to move. Maybe if I had an older brother instead of a sister. Maybe if my parents had married younger and I had an older sister and a brother. Does it matter? It was the way that it was. It is the way that it is.
I remember one time I was putting you to sleep over the phone. I remember your soft breathing as you drifted off. I remember your light gentle snores as you slept. Listening to you was bliss. I remember I had to get up but I couldn’t. I ended up listening to you for an hour. I only did end up getting up because you moved away from the phone and I couldn’t hear you anymore. I could have listened to you for an eternity.
I remember towards the end, you asked me if I regretted April 5th. I asked you the same question and you said you didn’t know. I know your answer. You do regret it. Your life would have been much more painless if I had not been in it.
As for me, my response is the same as it was that day. I regret what I put you through. I put you through an unimaginable amount of pain, and for what? I was not worth it. I regret what it did to you.
But I don’t regret my fate. Regardless I would have ended up without you. But by confessing on April 5th I got three years with the love of my life. Three imperfect years, sure. Three years that had pain, arguments, and sad times. But three beautiful years nonetheless. Three years with my soulmate, with the love of my life. Three more years than I deserved. Three years that I will cherish forever, long after you have forgotten me.
All these years later and you are still the first thing I think about in the morning when I wake up and the last thing I think about at night before I sleep. All these years later you still rule my heart, and you always will.
From the moment I fell in love with you, I knew you were the love of my life. I knew that I would be in love with you forever. My love for you is not contingent on your love for me. You will always be the love of my life, my soulmate, the best friend Iv ever had, my sunshine, and my universe.
