Reagan & Isiah
Forty years ago today, two historically notable events occurred—there was an assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan and Indiana University won the NCAA men's basketball national championship.
Oddly, I don't remember much about the former, but I do recall running around E. Kirkwood Avenue all night, climbing on buildings & what not, looking at crowds of young people, filling the street in boisterous celebration. (Kirkwood is the “strip” near campus in Bloomington: bars and pizza joints.)
When we got back to the car, driven by the young lady I was with, we found that someone had stolen a wheel & tire from the car—her father was not happy.
