Never read Ken Follett's the Eye of the Needle. It sounds interesting, it starts interesting, it turns into softcore pornographic bullshit in the last ~50 pages or so. I will never forgive the book or the author.

Of course not, but Elon Musk didn’t poison Flint’s water either - decades of infrastructure neglect, criminal mis-management, and municipal corruption did. Flint has been a harsh, rough place with severe issues and a terrible local government for longer than Elon Musk has been alive. Grandstanding and making claims without actually helping isn’t good, of course, but it’s pretty par for the course for everyone else with the power and money to do something about it, not something unique to Musk.

Making baseless accusations against people that risked everything to save trapped children is a stupid, petty, and inexcusable thing to do, and I’m not going to defend it. But this trend of attacking Musk for anything and everything goes back a lot farther than the stupid comments he made about this particular incident. 

I have no interest in blindly defending a billionaire from people being mean to him on twitter, but the manipulation of public opinion by large media outlets is a serious and reoccurring issue that I think is a mistake to ignore or overlook, and this is a glaring example of it.
