FMK: Simcoe, Gamble, Ben
[FMK meme from a totally mysterious Anon (though I have my suspicions ...)]
"Well, this depends on a few variables ... for example who's had a bath recently, notlookingatanyoneMrGamble.
First let me say that I wouldn't be marrying any of them, mostly for financial reasons.
Bedroom frolics ... it's a tougher decision than it first appears. Probably Ben, given the other two are more than likely to bring a knife to bed with them and I am absolutely not about that.
Kill ... well I haven't done it so far, but ... sorry, Arthur, but you're the boy most likely!

⚠ Warning: Captain Tallmadge does NOT follow orders. You will wind up in a cell with a bullet in your leg and then get your face punched in by his wild friend who, second warning, Tallmadge has no control over. Despite outranking him. Don't let his nice boy exterior fool you! The man's a menace!
This boi is guilty as charged! Also, excuse u sir, Caleb Brewster is a force of nature and it would be Most unnatural to try and control him.

Setauket, Long Island, Revolutionary War ...
All things considered, this didn’t seem inclined to be her day. Everyone seemed irritated about something or other, the season was on the change, and no-one among the redcoats (those she’d spoken to, at least) seemed able to answer a simple question.
Which was why she now found herself where she hadn’t really wanted to be, at the converted church with its paranoid guards, looking for someone who might be in charge ...
[Gunpoint Meme from @ive-been-reminding-you.]
Simcoe barely knew this woman. Yet here he was, in the middle of a gunfight all the same. He had his own code of honor that most certainly did not include allowing a lady to be shot right in front of him. Besides, there was something about her that he found to be charming. And John Graves Simcoe did not like most people. That had to count for something.
He had walked into the tavern to find a man holding a pistol to Theresa’s head. Behind the man were two of his friends, armed, but with weapons holstered. He quickly ducked behind a wall and loaded his own gun. He could not hear what they were saying, and he did not know how this lady had gotten herself here, but he knew which side he would rather shoot.
He slowly walked out from behind the wall, pistol pointed at the man whose weapon was drawn on Theresa.
“Miss Landsend, duck!” he said, his voice much too calm for the situation. With that, he took his shot and ended him.
“Make your way over here!” he called out to her as the other men began to load their own. Rushing out, he grabbed the assailant’s pistol while his friends were occupied and dove back into the room, just in time for the two men to miss him.
He loaded both guns and handed one to Theresa. “Now, Miss Landsend, I’m not sure if you know how to use one of these but you should probably have it all the same,” he said. Again, his voice was calm as two bullets splintered a bit of the doorframe beside them.
“We should fire now,” he whispered to her as the men loaded their pistols once more.
Somehow, this might have been easier to deal with if she’d had the faintest clue who these men actually were. One of the problems with the current state of war wasn’t with the two main armies but the opportunists - the ones who roamed around professing loyalty to one side or the other but were really only out for themselves.
On the one hand, she couldn’t really complain; the smugglers who had brought her across the Sound had been just such a group. These, however … a flintlock might have only one shot at a time but it was still a shot, and one she didn’t need heading her way. Which left talking her way out, at least until the barrel moved from her ear and she had a chance to counterattack.
Or … or, Captain Simcoe would just … step out into plain open view as calmly as you please and tell her to duck.
With pleasure. There was the crack of a pistol in the air and, closer, the familiar sound of impact, but she was already on her way down and aside, taking the opportunity to head for the door. She kept half an ear peeled for the other two men, just in case they decided to charge them before the Captain could reload.
And then answered his question by reaching for the gun as he handed it over. “I know how.” Two shots hit beside them, and she gave a shake of her head. “Not very bright, are they?” Her thumb clicked back the hammer and she gave a nod. “I’ve got the left.”
And with that she proved it, ducking around the doorframe to fire.
Could kill you, but is still a cinnamon roll

🍫 for Simcoe to give Thera a box of chocolate in I guess a modern day AU or something lol.

“Captain Simcoe …” Her voice was silky, and just a little sing-song; enough to say that she thought she knew the answer to what she was about to ask, but not so much that she couldn’t play it off if she was wrong. The ribbon-tied box was already the very last thing she’d expected to find, and though the list of potential suspects was narrow indeed she didn’t want to jump to conclusions.
“I don’t suppose you happen to be aware of who I should be thanking for these?”
