Fighting the flu
There's been a flu going around for weeks, and this morning, I woke up with a sore(ish) throat and clogged nose. I can't get the flu now, I can not. As I mentioned, if this cycle goes like the previous one, the retrieval is next Friday, and I'm sure it's on Monday the 6th at the latest. The retrieval is done under anaesthesia, which they won't be able to do if I have the flu. I suppose something minor won't matter, but full-blown flu with temperature would definitely be a problem. I don't have that now, I'm just saying, I can't afford to get it, either. As I probably mentioned before, here it's standard practice to do the retrieval only under iv pain medication, while anaesthesia is only used upon request. So my guess is that if I were to have the flu on retrieval day, the would simply do it without putting me under, but I really, really do not want to do that. The last time, they administered some pain meds before the anaesthesia, and that made my head spin so bad, I could not have stood it awake.
So, I've spent today drinking tea with honey and doing nothing much else. Except that I went to buy a case for my iPhone 6 plus. The phone is yet to be delivered, but at least I have a case for it now. (I bought the phone with a 36-month payment deal, there's no way I'd buy one in one instalment.)
