who: sama and @asravenous where: the spare room when: right after the talent show
In the silence that followed Reece’s announcement, Sama had to resist the urge to stare everyone in the room down. While she didn’t have any sort of sisterly affection for Reece, Sama would always defend a woman’s right to bodily autonomy. It was a matter of principle. But maybe she should give her fellow wards the benefit of the doubt. Maybe no one was speaking because they all understood that, despite Reece deciding to share this fact with all of them, it was none of their business. Maybe they were all waiting to take their cue from whoever spoke first.
Sama had never shied away from setting the tone for a room, and she wasn’t about to start now. Hoping to lead by example, she turned to Vikram and addressed something that had been in the back of her mind since Angus and Celia took to the makeshift stage at the front of the room. “I don’t know about you, but I feel like one of us should have been smart enough to come up with the idea of teaming up.” Never mind that they were both, by nature, solitary and independent.
