Really it was Lana Del Rey’s music that inspired the AU itself, but no one particular song (though I’m partial to her first album over the second). Headcanons:
In a world where his son was born and he was near, Spartacus stopping his son from being murdered.
Spartacus named his son after his fallen friend, Varro.
Spartacus would spend as much time as possible with his child, wanting the baby to know of him, know what he was trying to do...but would send him away, knowing the encampment was no place for a child.
His plan would be after he had finished fighting to be reunited with his child.
He made a promise, that his son would never be a gladiator.
