One year ago I was left devastated by the events that took six innocent lives and tore away my community's sense of peace. Tonight, I am left honored and humbled to be part of the Isla Vista community, as we come together to remember those we lost and support each other in rebuilding our community. My prayers go out the family's and friends of the six souls who were taken away from us. Hold your loved ones a little closer tonight, and never forget that life is precious. Volunteer corgies out in Isla Vista today for the one-year anniversary of the tragedy. Pardall Centre has chalk out and people are decorating the sidewalks like they did last year. There's some beautiful and moving work.

I can't believe there are idiots who are so horribly blind and in such denial that they spend time claiming that the UCSB mass shooting was a hoax, that it was staged by the government and anti-gun protesters, that the people interviewed and families of victims are hired actors. I feel physically sick. It's no wonder so many people think the extremists of the NRA and gun-lobby are scum. Stop harassing victims on the internet and leave the I.V. community alone.
