it honestly astounds me that certain people who say bellamy is white, or bellamy isn’t “poc enough”, or that bellamy is “not good representation” don’t realize how vile and hateful they are being to southeastern asians. by insisting filipinos are “basically white” or “don’t matter” THEY ARE BEING RACIST. they are literally, very openly saying filipinos don’t matter.
how can they not see that? how can they be so willfully ignorant? how can they be so hateful? and yet in the same breath insist “i’m not racist, it’s those blarkes who are racist for thinking bellamy is good rep” (like??? what the fuck???? is that logic????)
this is about more than whether you like bellamy as a character or as a person. this is his IDENTITY and it’s affecting REAL PEOPLE. cl/exas are insisting that only white people care about bellamy’s race, and yet intentionally ignore many asian and s/e asian viewers have spoke out and said “ummm no, bellamy means a lot to me”. they just shut them down and then speak for them, saying that they don’t really care about bellamy. it’s disgusting.
