My dad, was a Super contradiction! Always to me, he was larger than life.... but by his own description he was “Just a big dumb Dutchman”. (He’s def where I got my sarcastic & self-deprecating wit...😜 Oh & the❤️love of a good story) One of the things I always found amusing was his Belleek Porcelain collection. It was something he started later in life and one of the few things he ever collected for himself. His collection rivaled all the store displays I’ve ever seen... combined! He just loved it, this 6’ 3” giant of a man, who was raised dirt poor in a Mennonite family. He never went past the 8th grade, in a one room school house (he taught himself what he needed to learn.) And he worked HARD every dang day... he had this super fragile pottery addiction.😳🤣 So on Super hubs & my trip to Ireland this past week (somewhere that dad had always wanted to visit, but never did). I knew I had to get a piece of this Irish pottery. When I walked into the shop & saw this I knew I was gonna need to get this ONE, home. ♥️🍀The Shamrock line was a huge part of his collection, & till I got to the register I was already tearing up 😢 and started to explain to the cashier, why I needed this mug. 🍀She was so sweet, and waited till my story was over, & what she said next let me know that dad was definitely there with us.❤️💚She said “Well... I know he’d be sayin’ Good on you!
