I'm 14 min into the first episode of Merlin.

I'm still not hooked on it yet. Basically he's just frolicking about, witnesses an execution for magic use, some witch claims she'll avenge her son. The magic special effects seem descent for a 2008 TV show. He seems to have innate magic and doesn't need spells unlike others. Lol. It reminds me of some MCU!Loki fics where he's some super special mage with stronger magic than everyone else xD

Also, he's always like ^_^ or :D looking at his surroundings in a whimsical fashion. The warning about magic from the Gaius guy seems uncharacteristic of him, because Merlin seemed more careful about discussing his magic than he was in the beginning. Also, Merlin smiles at some sandwich he got from the guy and goes off to deliver medication.

And Morgana, who I often see as a fem!Loki fancast, was there. She does fit the vibe and she's pretty.

And there was some singer Lady in a sheer red tent that gets killed via poppet by the vengeful witch that takes her place.

Some guy drank the whole flask instead of the dose he was prescribed. LMAO.

Byzantium (2012) is very good. The vampire lore is unusual, and the plot much more unique than the description paints it out to be. the description is not accurate at a all.

So I'm watching a 2017 low-rated Arthuriana movie, and I was wondering if the same actress as Morgana from Merlin BBC was on it, and it was. She's never escaping loosely-based adaptations of Arthuriana D: (she was Igraine this time).

I watched Victor Frankenstein (2015) today because I'd been wanting to for quite some time. Was it accurate? NO, and totally missed the points of the book in every way. It feels like they made Frankenstein their mentally unstable Gary Stu with a tragic backstory entirely different from the book. But it was entertaining.

Was the acting good? No, but it was hilariously over-the-top. It had very good comedic timing and was full of absolute cheese. We were laughing at how Victor was this jack-of-all-trades dabbling in martial arts, illusions, medicine, and engineering. It also felt very unintentionally(?) homoerotic. The men were constantly crowding on each other, and istg Victor wanted to fuck "Igor".

It has Daniel Radcliffe as Igor, James McAvoy as Victor, and Freddie Fox as the antagonist if you're into that.

Tfw you rented a movie on Kanopy because the title and "secret" thing seemed intriguing, and it turned out to be some reverse racism bullshit suggesting 5 students would all miss an entirety of a whole semester, and then use the race card to get away with it. And then, you look at the Wikipedia page, and apparently the twist was that the MC who had to resign due to the race card being used against him, is actually white-passing Black and has been passing himself as Jewish. And said MC is played by a Welsh non-Jewish white man.
