ughhhhh i feel u so hard, in russia i often had parents demanding to know why their kids weren't acing tests & rushing the blame the kids and i was just like..... ur kid is trying she is eight. like i'm 90% sure one of my kids had adhd and i felt so awful for her because she just could not learn in the conditions of a classroom, she needed individual instruction w/ someone who understood her needs, and her mom thought the answer was more classes + more guilt for underperforming
it’s awful when you can’t do anything and i just don’t get why people think making people feel inadequate & ashamed & upset is somehow going to help them learn MORE instead of making them shut down
YEAH kids needs patience and guidance and understanding!! not this!!!!! i think im gonna try taking over the homework help for her bc there’s no way my mom isn’t making it worse and i don’t want her to grow up like that :(
i rly wanna see about getting her a tutor also, and maybe getting evaluated for brain issues that might be affecting her. she clearly can’t focus and idk if it’s brain stuff or just stress or both, but whatever it is, what my mom is doing (ie yelling at her and making her sit down and work until they’re done or mom gets too angry to contnue) isn’t working for her
