Twelve Years Old
Amidst empty Fun Dip packets, forgotten stuffed animals, a phone they won't touch because their friends are ignoring them, a laptop that five years behin everyone else's, empty potato chip bags, half finished homework from school that ended a month ago, a swimsuit that hasn't dried for two days, a cracked headband, three pairless shoes and a sleeping cat that been stuck in the room for four hours, the avarage twelve year old girl, curled up on the floor of her room, in her dad's house, which isn't the house her mom lives in whispers. "I'm cold. I want to go home. I miss my sisters. And I don't know what I am." Or was that just me?
