Tomorrow, March 8th, is International WORKING Women’s Day and it is a great day to remember that the bourgeois feminist movement is racist, nationalist, imperialist, and does nothing to challenge the system that the vast majority of women, WORKING CLASS women, are imprisoned under.
It’s great day to remember our sisters in colonized parts of the world, whose countries are so much poorer so that countries like the US, England, Germany etc can be rich- while the ruling class in every country works to pit the working people against each other with racist, xenophobic rhetoric.
The women in the ruling class want you to forget the benefits they receive by being members of their class, they want you to believe that the fight for them to gain access to male ruling class spaces is of the utmost importance, so that they too, can become imperialists. So that they too can be CEOs exploiting the labor of other women. They will say that adding the word “working” to tomorrow’s international celebration is ‘divisive’.
Fighting against capitalism, for socialism, cannot be a 'divisive’ issue in feminism. It is the only way women will be liberated, will obtain real economic and social equality. Feminism must fight to unite WORKING women internationally first and foremost.
Don’t drop the first W. Take this day to engage with other women about the power of the working class, internationalism, and the fight against capitalism.
