EVENT: RUNNING HONGKONG

The flashing camera lights and loud media teams are now behind you - you have followed the red carpet to its end, where black velvet drapes awaited you. That, and the guard dressed in a black tuxedo. The safety is on top, but as you are granted access, — You forgot something. The voice stern and a hand is grasping upon your shoulder. During this moment you are handed something, a coin? And the game has begun.

HOW TO PLAY: This is like a blind game of rock, paper, scissor, with the only difference that you compete with a team, and you may not change symbol according to own will. The procedure remains the same other than that, you challenge someone and fate (or luck, depending on how sneaky you have been) will decide who’s to win and lose. The team with the most members left at the end of the time - wins. Or ultimately, the last team standing.

o1. SYMBOLS: There is three different types of coins, at a first glance they all look the same, much like a golden medal, but - the symbols differ.

The crown beats the gun, the gun beats the sword, the sword beats the crown. [ crown > gun > sword > crown ]

Never reveal your symbol to anyone but your teammates (if you trust them that is). However, once you challenge someone, you both must reveal the symbol in the post. (just mention it).

o2.(a) IN CASE OF DEFEAT: You have lost a round, meaning that you’ve challenged someone from another team - and their symbol was one to defeat yours. You are no longer allowed to challenge anyone, but you may be put back in game. (This will be announced by the Game master). We recommend you help your team / or another team; why not be a rebel. Also, don’t forget to contact the IXIDOL mainblog when defeated.

o2.(b) IN CASE OF VICTORY: You have won a round, meaning that you’ve challenged someone from another team - and their symbol was one to be weaker than yours. You are now allowed to switch coins, that’s a choice for you to make. After that, you continue the game as usual - hide or challenge another player.

o3. HOW TO CHALLENGE: You’ve spotted the one you want to challenge, or perhaps just feel like taking a wild guess? Approach one of the members of the other teams— however, for the challenge to be valid, you need to physically touch them / their clothes, and mention that they have been challenged.

o4. HOW TO AVOID A CHALLENGE: Someone wants to challenge you but you got a bad feeling about it / want to play hard to get? You can avoid a challenge by making sure the person can’t touch you. However once they get the slightest physical contact you may be challenged. Hide, run, trick them into challenging someone else - there is plenty of ways to protect oneself.

o5. IN CASE OF CHEATING: If cheating occurs, such as team members switching coins with each other or someone jumping into the game when already the defeated, then the other teams are allowed to take back a member each into the game.

RULES

✕ You are only allowed to stay inside of the event area which is the concert hall used to record MAMA in Hongkong. ✕ Although cooperation / corruption between teams are allowed, no people outside of the game are allowed at the event area. ✕ Remember that this is a game, and also a way to get close to those around you - try to enjoy it, you’re not forced to participate. ✕ Make sure to remember your symbol, we suggest you write it down somewhere. ✕ Try to be remotely active regarding the event and make sure it takes part on the dash. You are allowed to play it out in script, para, action - basically whichever form you prefer. ✕ Use the #ixevent tag for all posts / asks related to the event. ✕ You may not like everyone in your team, but no changes are made. Be an adult and do the best of the situation - who knows, you may get a new friend or two.

DISCLAIMER: We have never tried this before… So the outcome is a complete mystery. The Game Master got all the symbols for each person saved up, so all those whom want to try this out can do it without a problem. (meaning that admins knows as little as you guys do when it comes to the symbols and thus can join in). Let’s do our best to make this into something interesting which can be enjoyed by most. Previously we had a note on the whole welcoming matter. And we are proud to see that members have stepped up their game. Well done, everybody!

However, in the rules we also ask members, if possible, to hit up the admins - to ease their job. For those unfamiliar with this, allow us to refer you to the IX guidelines

This is something which should be taken into consideration as well. We know some members have done this, but in comparison to the total amount it's only a small percentage. So once in a blue moon, or if new in the family and yet to receive a welcome from an admin or two - send them something first. It's not exactly a rule, but more of a recommendation so admins also will have a chance to get familiar with you all.

On a completely different note - the event will be posted today, as it starts tomorrow. We would appreciate those who wants to participate to RSVP as soon as possible.
