the time has come loves! face claim reservations are open!!

here is an excerpt from the rules regarding face claims, to keep in mind while you are selecting your reservations!

reservations last for seven full days, or a total of one week. maximum of two reservations per person at any given time. some things to keep in mind regarding reserving and using play-bys: reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. whether you have started on your profile, or even been accepted, if a person reserves the face claim you wanted to use before you claim it, they have first dibbs, and you will have to select another pb. play-bys of deceased celebrities are not permitted on this site. likewise, play-by's of celebrities 17 or younger are not allowed. only actual celebrities such as actors, musicians, models, ect. no myspace models or scene kids, and definitely no one who has requested their images to not be used. and lastly, know that we still strive for realism when at all possible. when deciding the age of your play-by, keep in mind the actual age of the play-by. we usually say a good rule of thumb is about four years younger to four years older, giving you an eight year range. using older pictures from when they were younger is not an acceptable alternative either.

for our tumblr reservations, your week start won't begin until the site opens on saturday, so no worries, these extra couple days before we open won't count as two of those days! also, note that we limit to two reservations per person, regardless of the gender of the play-by. as sometimes asks might not get published immediately, make sure when you are sending in your tumblr reservations, you also include back-ups in case someone has beaten you to the face claims you are looking for.

Hey our amazing followers!!

The time has come to reveal our opening date, and when face claim reservations will open up!! You all have been so amazing and patient, and we are so thankful for each and every one of you!!

Opening date will be set for this Saturday!! We don't have an official time yet, so keep your eyes on this blog, but the link will be posted sometime this Saturday, February 14th. It's our little Valentine's Day gift to all you loves ;)

With that being said, tomorrow evening, on Thursday, February 12th, at 9pm EST, we will open up reservations for face claims!! Make sure to wait until we post that they are officially open to start sending in your asks, but that is the time we are looking to start making them available!! You can claim up to two faces, but also send in back-ups for each in case someone sends in an ask for that same play-by before you.

As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!! We are so excited opening day is so close, and can't wait to share all the fun with you all!!

First things first: 

getting sorted at our site is something of a two step process. because we do not have a standard application template, our character biographies will be located in our profiles. 

when the site opens, as you'll be able to see, we'll have an area set up for you to work on your profiles if you need to. when your app is completed, we have a super simple sorting template needed to be filled out in order to be sorted.

our code is tabbed too and this is what is required:

sociology

this includes the character’s home location, type of job, family life, wealth (amount of money), and how free time is spent. class: occupation: education: home life: who are the significant relationships in their life? religion: place in community: (is this person liked/disliked in his/her home area?) political ambitions: amusements: hobbies:

psychology

this includes how a character acts because of attitude. please attempt to describe the mental state of the character. try to offer reasons for character’s actions due to attitude. moral standards: personal ambitions: frustrations (disappointments, big and small): temperament: (is this character mild mannered or hostile? plus, when a character comes in contact with different persons; how do they respond? does the character act differently around different people? attitude toward life: complexes (are there any mental problems which cause him/her to act in any particular manner?): i.q.:

back story 

how did the character arrive at this point in their life, just prior to the beginning of your story? what are the significant events in their life that makes them the person they are today? what happened to them along that makes them a distinct and unique person?

canary

in preparation of the big open, we will release some of our site's occupations. New York is a huge place with lots to get into so you are by no means limited to what occupations the site offers. if are interested in maximizing plotting though, you'll be interested!

they say that action packed super hero themed shows just wouldn't work with a woman at the helm. thank god the good angels at FOX decided to take a chance on canary, a grittier and darker night time crime fighting drama based around beloved DC verse super heroine dinah lance aka the black canary. the pilot episode, filmed in vancouver, debut to a dismal 4.8 million its first airing. the series slowly began to pick up steam after the first half of the season. by the end of the season, it was a bonafied sleeper hit. production moved to new york after the first few episodes aired and the show is proving to be a success with the townies as well as the rest of the world. the first canary video game debut to smashing success to the ps4 and xbox one format on november 11th, 2014 and the first soundtrack debut later that same month. canary is known to feature local new york artists by having them appear on screen and perform at the oliver queen owned "club nova". the series has been picked up for a 3rd season on january 18th, 2015. it is set to premiere on september 5th, 2015 in a new 9 PM time slot.

series overview: the series is set in new york city and it regularly follows the public and private life of dinah laurel lance. it is also set directly after the death of her husband oliver queen. the first season follows dinah and her effort to pick herself back up after losing oliver as well as finding the will to continue on crime fighting. the first season is known for heavy use of flashbacks depicting dinah and ollie in happier times, as well as the time dinah met her death courtesy of the joker and her subsequent resurrection via the lazarus pit. the first season features the promotion of the huntress into a main character at the second half of the season.

the second season reintroduces the audience to ted "wildcat" grant, the trainer of dinah in her formative years now turned rogue assassin. it also features the rise of the secret six a group of deadly assassins aiming to strike on the birds of prey and the city. this season is noted for the ongoing, highly publicized and much teased romance of huntress and black canary.

"canary" begins production in it's third season on july 20th, 2015.

main characters:

BLACK CANARY / DINAH LANCE QUEEN: a young meta human born with an ultra-sonic super power. she's widely considered to be among the best hand to hand combat fighters in the world. known for her street smart attitude, toughness and good nature, the motor cycle driving crime fighter is shown to have a darker edge to her since being resurrected via the lazarus pit at the hands of the joker. she is the co-leader of birds of prey as well as the best friend of barbara gordon/oracle though there's now tension between the two thanks to the complicated relationship both have with nightwing/dick grayson. she is the widow of oliver queen/green arrow. she, along with the rest of BoP, maintain their public identities. she's the owner of a florist shop that she owned with her late husband "sherwood florist". dinah is in her late 20s. she is a conventional beauty: blonde, lithe and gorgeous. the show makes an effort to keep a lot of the camp from the comics so she does not adopt an official "black canary" costume but the color blue, as well as leather, is carefully inserted into her wardrobe normally. dinah sometimes uses her sex appeal to achieve gain her way. she is played by KATERINA FORCE.

ORACLE / BARBARA GORDON: barbara is the daughter of james and barbara gordon and she is the co-leader of the birds of prey with dinah. she is a gifted metahuman, blessed with a photographic memory that helps aids the group on its mission. she is kind hearted and sensitive in contrast to her tough talking best friend. she is also the long time love interest of nightwing/dick grayson. in the season one finale dick takes a bullet intended for barbara, shot by savant/brian durlin. though he was able to recover from his wounds, he lost his memories. she is the first technical member of the birds of prey and her public identity is librarian at a new york city library. barbara is in her late 20s. she is not a conventional beauty. she has dark hair, wears glasses and lots of sweaters. on missions that call for stealth, she removes the librarian look and glams it up. unlike her comic counterpart, barbara is not wheelchair bound but she is asthmatic. she's often described as "cute". she is played by --------- .

NIGHTWING / DICK GRAYSON: long time (childhood) friend to oliver queen, dinah lance and barbara gordon dick grayson is the crime fighting vigilante known as nightwing. he and green arrow enjoyed a partnership until the death of the green arrow. he is not a metahuman but a skilled martial artist with at least ten different styles of combat in his arsenal. he is the long time love interest of barbara gordon/oracle until taking a bullet for her in the season one finale. much of season two explores his amnesia as well as his new found attraction to dinah. the pre emulate episode revealed that dick remembers more than he has let on. he is also the secret older brother the late lady blackhawk/zinda blake. dick is in his late 20s. he is tall, dark and handsome. he has dangerous good looks mixed with mysterious allure. he's incredibly athletic and often stoic thanks to the amnesia. so an actor with a great stare is desired here he is played by ---------.

HUNTRESS / HELENA BERTINELLI: gun toting, sassy and vicious, helena is initially introduced as foil to dinah. only meant to be a recurring character, she proved to be a fan favorite for the series as well as much needed comic relief. quality and care went into the back story of helena, giving highlight on her past as a mafia princess and the absolute darling of her family until they were all gunned down (helena included) leaving only the thirteen year old helena surviving. she is the only birds of prey member without any meta human abilities; though she is an excellent marksman. trained by lady shiva, huntress follows in her trainer's assassin footsteps too. the coming out of the character in early season one was a critical moment in the series as well as one of the highest rated episodes of canary history. in season two she is shown to harbor strong feelings towards dinah. the media attention on the much favored / would be couple is dubbed "hunter canary". helena is in her mid 20s. she's sexy, classic and charming. favors more of a feminine look, skirts never pants, to a more modern one. she's tall and vivacious. she is played by ------ ARDEN

DOVE / DAWN GRANGER: the only other member of the birds to have survived the lazarus pit, dove is the only member of the team who did not inherit her meta human powers via the meta gene. she gifted with super strength, speed and durability. she is the go to woman for any and all stealth missions. dove was not actually shown in the series until the second season finale but she was mentioned as far back as season one. she was noted for being one of the only beings known to survive the lazarus pit prompting dinah to locate her and track her. she is expected to be front and center for the third season. she is the newest member of the birds of prey team, taking over the position left by the late lady blackhawk. dawn is in her early 20s. she is the youngest birds of prey member. she's known to dress stylish but more reflective of her youthful generation. she has short hair and is very athletic. like barbara, she is known to downplay her feminine appeal. she is played by ------ .

JADE CANARY / LADY SHIVA / SANDRA WU-SAN: season one's main antagonist. she is the assassin for hire responsible for training and later employing huntress/helena bertinelli to assassinate dinah lance. she is also identified in the season one finale as the murderer of oliver queen/green arrow. she is tough, deadly and dedicated and revealed to be a star member of the league of assassins. she is defeated by the birds of prey in the season finale. jade canary is not killed but imprisoned in arkham and continues to make regular appearances in the series via flashbacks typically with huntress. the first spoiler of the new season (third season) suggests her freedom of arkham is imminent. sandra is in her late 30s. she is clear cut gorgeous, asian and very spry. she is known to favor a more classic style of wardrobe, wearing just whatever is vital for the situation. she is also fiercely athletic. she is played by --------

DEADSHOT / FLOYD LAWTON: season two's main antagonist. he is the de facto leader of secret six and the one responsible for lady blackhawk's death. he is the world's deadliest assassin and marksman. he boasts never having missed a shot. through flashbacks it is suggested he and is also one of green arrow's most reviled enemies. he is responsible for most of the antics in season 2 and is largely responsible for helping his secret six cohorts escape justice. only four of them have appeared on screen so far, season 3 is expected to reunite all six. he is also in a secret relationship with poison ivy / dr. pamela isley who is also expected to play a bigger role in season 3. floyd is in his early 40s. very gruff, masculine and athletic. he is blind in one eye but fitted with a scope laser eye patch. he is bald and tall and looks absolutely menacing. he is played by ----------- .

recurring characters:

SAVANT / BRIAN DURLIN: like the name suggests, savant is a certified genius. he is also certifiably insane. he's depicted as a rich and spoiled brat at first but his character evolves to highlight more of his troubled qualities. he has an unhealthy obsession with barbara gordon; the obsession growing to the point where he kidnaps her and tortures her in season one. he attempts to kill her in the season finale but his bullet missed, hitting dick grayson instead. he is sent to arkham in season one and appears in two episodes in season 2. ------------- .

ARSENAL / RED ARROW / ROY HARPER JR.: childhood friend to dick grayson and uncanny marksman with a bow and arrow. he appears scarcely throughout season two to help support dick through his amnesia. he is rumored to play a bigger role in season 3. roy is in his early - mid 20s. he has a very beach boy classic look to him, bright blonde hair and toned and athletic. he favors the color red a lot too. he is played by -----------.

POISON IVY / DR. PAMELA ISLEY: secret eco-terrorist, she is usually shown at sherwood florist. she is attempting a cover as a botanist working with dinah, but she is revealed to be an affiliate (and lover) to floyd lawton. she too is rumored to play a bigger role in season 3. pamela is in her mid - late 30s. known for her penchant for green and defining bright red hair, she's sexy and camp and definitely countable for part of the series main sex appeal. she's described as cute and vibrant with a killer smile. she is played by --------- .

LADY BLACKHAWKE / ZINDA BLAKE: BoP's youngest member but perhaps pure old soul, she is new to new york and initially in search of the family that had given her up for adoption. she is known for her natural athletic athletic prowess. she was the only other BoP member without any known meta human abilities and now because of being deceased that title is solely allocated to huntress. she is killed within the late half of season two and she died without knowing her familial connection to nightwing/dick grayson. she is the first main character to be killed off the series. though she is dead she is expected to make an appearance via flashback sometime in season 3. she is played by ------- .

BAT GIRL / CASSANDRA CAIN: recurring BoP ally set to debut in early season 3. she is the crime fighting daughter of lady shiva and weapons trader david cain. she was orphaned at age six when her father was murdered; her mother a non existent part of her life early on. she is taken in by bruce wayne / batman. she takes over the bat mantle when bruce wayne goes missing. cassandra is in her early 20s. she is short but very athletic and toned. gorgeous green eyes and skin; she is of asian decent. she is played by -------- .

GREEN ARROW / OLIVER QUEEN: never billed higher than a recurring character although he appeared in every episode of the first season. he is the deceased husband of dinah lance queen/black canary and is regularly shown in flashbacks. he is crime fighting super hero green arrow largely responsible for keeping the streets of new york safe until his death. though he only appears in three episodes in season 2 (via flashbacks) he is rumored to appear heavily in the first half of the third season though through flashbacks or in current setting remains to be seen. he is played by --------- .

extras:

canary has regular guest stars dropping by filling solo episode arcs. there's also quite a few local new york musicians passing through and performing on the show. as always there are extras off in the background getting paid for their efforts.

the st. peterson connection

st. peterson is a name you might see pop up around here often and it might seem pointless to you, but because we absolutely do not want to seem in any way exclusive ( trust us, we want to share in the fun ), we will give you some vital information about it and you can still include your characters in this world if you want to.

in your pocket is an original new york city based rpg but it has roots from a high school site named hot & dangerous. the site was successful and lasted for a few months only because we expressed an interest keeping our senior students around wanted to explore things beyond their graduation. we did that and created a multi city site that included both new york city and san diego, california, the city where the fictional st. peterson prep is home to. here is the official plot from that site:

St. Peterson is considered thee top notch college preparatory academy of the west coast. Year after year, wealthy socialites from all over the country ship their children to the top ranked school under the insurance that their money is being well spent. Well over the years, it's garnered a reputation for more than just their impressive alumni. It's a school centered around drama and scandal and it's yet to fully reach the tipping point.

Not so bad for a school that started off as a male only academy in the 1800s. St. Peterson is now co-educational. Dozens and dozens of alumni had graduated these halls and went on to do some pretty impressive things. The school can boast about molding a Nobel Prize winning author, at least three presidents and a slew of other notable people. But the one thing that the school can truly brag about is one impressive PR machine. Students will be students. They will do whatever the hell they want and most of them have too important parental units that guarantees most won't even receive so much of a demerit for their wicked ways. Wicked partying. Hot sex. Attitude galore. That's why we're HOT & DANGEROUS baby. If you're one of us then roll with us...

st. peterson is where the rich and famous sent their children to learn and the annual tuition was pretty pricey. there were, however, a few students able to get in on scholarship but only if they excelled within one of the four main areas that housing was based on. and yes, st. peterson was a boarding school type establishment. it had four different houses a student would be sorted into and that is where the student would live for their duration of high school. the standard summer breaks as well as holiday breaks were the only times the student could return back home. there were no off campus housing situations.

the hudson house The 'Hudson' house was originally the old boys dormitory when the school was first established. It's subsequently one of the older dorms on the entire campus. It's known for housing most of the school's jocks and all around athletic powerhouses, but it's such a nice and body building friendly facility, it's not just restricted to those in the athletic program but for anyone with a legitimate love for getting healthy. The Hudson house is large and roomy. A bit old and musky but that's okay. Students living here are more impressed and in touch with the gymnasium that occupies a large part of the first floor, than they are the rich history behind the house.

the caldwell house The Caldwell house is the most tricked out house on campus. It's pretty much got everything going for it. Modern kitchen, Olympic sized swimming pool in the back yard admist a sprawling garden that Caldwell students take pride in creating. And it's arguably the best decorated house among all houses. It's pretty much perfect for those students with ambitious social agendas. The Caldwell house is the campus most recent house as it was only built within the last 10 years. It still shines like new.

the felder house The Felder house is a most serious kind of house for the most serious kind of student. The massive library within the house is one of the most talked about facets of the entire campus. Too bad only Felder students get to use it. Students who are most academically ambitious flock to the Felder house and utilize the house for all of it's glorious advantages. The massive personal library. The computer lab that dominates the second floor. It's not a wonder why Felder students are the students most likely to succeed in total world domination once exiting St. Peterson's epic halls.

the argyle house The Argyle house is the second eldest house on the entire campus. Now it serves as a lovely and quaint artsy haven, equipped with a personal theatre, music room and craft room. The entire third floor is dominated with special rooms and equipment designed for those most artistically inclined. Whenever you browse images of the campus life, you're looking at images of Argyle! What other house can say that?

"st. peterson" is the only high school connected to this universe of characters and there will be characters roaming around the city who have connections to the school. again, this is by no means to promote any kind of exclusivity to the site. this post is to inform you of the school and for you to make your own decisions about bringing your character into that world or not. come one and come all and most importantly, enjoy new york!
