Now that I have completed all my initial unicorn orders and am almost done preparing for my trunk show with @yarnsuntangled later this month 😁.....Iwill be restocking my @beafreakingunicorn items in my shop on Saturday May 15th at Noon EST! 🎉🦄 Link in bio. . Some quick notes about the restock... . 1) Some items will be ready to ship but the majority will be Dye to Order. I will start dyeing them as of Monday with a 1 to 2 week maximum turnaround time. . 2) Items will be limited based on my stock of bases and dye powders 😉 . 3) All my #bafu products will be available until May 24th, at which time they will be retired. For now anyway ❤ . The Be a Freaking Unicorn project began with a group of Ontario indie Dyers and expanded to include over 40 makers around Canada and the US! Do you all remember this unicorn sock blank I was working on? Swipe to see it completed in both cake form and skein form! 🦄🦄🎉 . I planned to sell it as a cake because I figured that would show the gradient quite well but it turns out that 275 grams of sock yarn does not a pretty yarn cake make, at least not on my ball winder! 🤣😂 Although I did manage to fake the pretty for a photo! . So it is now in skein form! And what wasn't apparent from the initial picture is that it was a two-sided sock blank so the gradient goes from a neon yellow to the darker purple and black and then back to me on yellow again! . This is going to make an awesome #beafreakingunicorn project! Now I just have to be patient and hold on to it until May 1st! So the question was....can I create a #beafreakingunicorn yarn on non-superwash local yarn? The answer.....YUP!!! 😁❤ 🦄 . The second question I pose to you....would folks be interested in a non-superwash local option for the @beafreakingunicorn project? . @twinoaksfarmfiber has the most amazing yarns....I decided to test some neons on her Romney/BFL DK and here is the result! The left in each photo is on a natural grey base, and the right is on a white base. I actually really like how the grey saddens the colours...it gives them more an organic feel than a neon-in-your-face feel....but both are pretty awesome! . Portions of all unicorn sales will go to a local LGBTQ organization and @twinoaksfarmfiber has kindly offered to partner with me for the project! 😍 So I am gauging interest....yay or nay?
