Hi! Quick question: do I need to watch/read Pandora Hearts before reading Vanitas no Carte? I've come across this a couple of times and I really love the art style, but I can't decide whether to start reading it or not. Thanks!

Nope; Vanitas no Carte is a separate series from Pandora Hearts, they’re just written by the same mangaka. We hope you enjoy the series if you do decide to read either one :)

Akane wondered how much of this was truly a good idea. Ordinarily she'd do anything to help others and was always out to clear her name of the title 'Awakusu', but this just...didn't seem right. 

The package was getting heavy in her arms. What could possibly be in it? She thought with a frown as she crossed a busy street. Her father's friend didn't say. He only told her, 'I have a special job that only you can do, Akane-chan'. Well needless to say, those words thrilled her. But carrying a dumb box? Anyone could do that. 

Here it was. This was the address she was meant to deliver the box to. Its original owner warned her that she couldn't simply drop the delivery and go home. She had to make sure someone accepted it. 

The door opened. Akane, tired from her trip, thrust her arms out and muttered:

"This is for you."
