This song remember me my grandma. I remember she always asked me to turn it up when it come on the radio or tv, it always brought us peace.

In Cape Verde Emigrants are often called "Txero Maleta" that we can translate to smell of baggage, because the diferente smell emigrants have.

In Cape Verde every emigrant is supposed to be "rich" (not millionaires, money to spend, cape verdeans type of richness), so people expect you to bring gifts, which is not possible.

This a declaration of humbly, is man saying can't do it, but if would could, he would, cause what is his is theirs, cause he know the struggle.
