IZEA Fest & Content Marketing
The more I have immersed myself into the world of social media, I have seen the importance of content creation. I used to see social media as something that I do every day as part of my generation and social norms. To me, I was just informing my audience through platforms I knew how to navigate. Social media has become much more than just an informational bulletin, it's a place for an engaging conversation.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending IZEA Fest, an event that, "brings together industry leading brands, agencies and influencers from all verticals to provide education, inspiration and connections needed to amplify your digital footprint with a focus on content and influencer marketing."
There were many great guest speakers at IZEA Fest. I learned about the dos and donts of live video thanks to NASDAQ's director of integrated marketing, Joshua Machiz. I loved Duncan Wardle's session on innovative storytelling and thinking differently. He has worked with Disney's creative team for nearly 30 years. I had the privilege of meeting the daughter of the creator of Nickelodeon, Emmy Laybourne, and 2013 Air Guitar Champion winner, Eric Melin. I even won a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop at IZEA Fest. Lenovo was one of their sponsors alongside Vera Bradley. Because I was one of their winners, their company sponsored/promoted my Instagram post. I was also granted VIP seating on their Lenovo Sky Deck where all the guest speakers were seated. I loved keynote speaker, Daymond John, Fubu CEO and Shark Tank investor.
Here are a list of takeaways I have from my weekend at IZEAFest:
