Luis Pinto talking about the Strangeways zine
Question! Would you say that the primary conceptual element of the zine genre is its publishing/distribution aspects?
Versus... perhaps, craft aspects, information aspects, documentation aspects?
Please discuss! I'd love to hear some ideas.
Happy International Zine Month Day 31. That's it. It's the last day! How was your IZM2013? I've changed the activity for today to be HallowZINE. Today is the day to remember zines and zinesters that are no longer with us. This link is for a place to do that.
Zines and the people that create them come and go. The best way to keep something alive is to keep it in our thoughts and to tell stories. This shrine is for you to light a candle in remembrance of zines and zinesters that are no longer with us.
HallowZINE!
I want to change tomorrow's International Zine Month activity to HallowZINE where we celebrate zines/zinesters that are no longer with us. Are you in?
Telling stories about friends that are no longer with us has always been my way of keeping them alive. Sharing zines that no longer exists seems like the same principle.
Happy International Zine Month Day 30!
Read some zines! Lay in bed and read zines all day if you can!
Happy International Zine Month Day 29!
Post a photo online of you with your zine or your zine collection.

Shakeytown Radio: Freeways Collide's Int'l Zine Month event at Space 15 Twenty, w/ special guest co-host Daisy Noemi (45 mins)
The delightful and dreamy Daisy Noemi, an artist, illustrator, and photographer, is BFH's special guest cohost for an episode recorded from Freeways Collide's International Zine Month event at Space 15 Twenty. They chat with Dustin Garcia, Sara from Freeways Collide, and the folks from Sleep Talk Press, MC Sunflower Jones Productions, and Influentza. Bianca closes the show with guest Matt Walsh (Bugliens) and a bunch of dogs running around.

There's complaints about heat and parking fees, positive stuff about DIY art and the zine community, celebrity lookalikes, cold beverages, talking trash about people we hated in high school who are now definitely or presumably dead, and Daisy transitions from princess to this decade's new action movie star.
Happy International Zine Day 28!
The activity for today is to cook with a recipe from a zine or cook zine!
Which is funny that I forgot it. I'm about to head back to the Portland Zine Symposium 24 hour Zine Challenge after spending a few hours sleeping in my own bed and to grab my kale salad recipe to add it to the zine and to complete the zine cover! It ended up being a zine about how to travel cheaply.
