im sorry everyone i just.... really love izuhiro bc can u just imagine...... izumi trying to work up the best way to ask nishihiro on a date. he’s gotta be Cool bc he’s got a Brand™ to uphold. but oh man nishi is just. so gorgeous. cheekbones to kill a man. eyelashes long enough to fan just perfectly on his summer-sweetened skin. and so smart. son got a 95 on the last calculus test and it’s like, insane, what that boy can do with english. he can fucking SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!! (izumi’s fav jerk off fantasy is nishi the business man taking izumi on a trip to america and pinning him against the glass of their thirty second floor hotel room and just wrecking him). nishihiro is a god damned BREAD WINNER. and izumi’s like, dang, that boy’s gonna proVIDE for someone someday. should be me. but first he’s gotta ask him out on a date and he’s all mom’s spaghetti about it bc he’s gotta be Cool™ and not Fuckk This Up™ but he knows he’s got a face that burns bright red when he gets super flustered and man does one chiming note of nishihiro’s laugh get those butterflies going. so he just... pines and groans and hides his face in his arms and thinks abt how Great it would be if he could just.... reach out... and hold nishihiro’s hand when they’re not sitting in a circle in baseball practice... if he could just.... get OVER it and grab that pretty face and pull it in for a kiss. he’s gotta.
meanwhile nishihiro spends about a week trying to decide what on Earth is wrong with izumi lately, but ofc he is a Wise Shoujo Sage, he recognizes the signals. he spends an extra afternoon over the clouds with delight, probably lyin g on his bed kicking his feet and giggling into a pillow bc WOW the coolest guy in school totally has a crush on HIM. (he’s like, a noodle, and not good at baseball, and he guesses his grades are good?? he’s not really sure why izumi likes-likes him but hey, he’s no fool, he’s not gonna look this gift horse in the mouth) so he wakes up a little early the next day and dresses just a little nicer and makes sure to sit by izumi in the meditation circle (sweaty palm Confirmed™) and just.... threads their fingers together and squeezes a bit.
izumi burns. oh god. oh GOD OH GOD he burns ALIVE. he probably has to like. go collect himself which causes nishihiro to laugh (which only makes it worse, god) bc nishihiro is charmed or some shit, what, and then he stomps back over to nishi and is just like, ‘hey, so, you should go on a date w me.’
and nishi’s just smiles, wiping the laughter tears away from his eyes, probably ‘yeah?’
and izumi says, ‘yeah.’ puts his hands in his pockets bc he knows he’s got this, now. he’s so fucking cool, got the smartest guy in their year as a boyfriend. they’re gonna be great.
