so I just found your blog and it's like Christmas come early (late?) The way you write Gin is so good and true to his character (not to mention other characters you write) and you make every sentence flow so naturally. I love how you explore his character, the way he walks, dresses and observes people, and the scenarios you write, like his third seat days and all your AU's. Have you considered posting any of your stories on AO3? We are in dire need of more Gin. Please don't ever stop posting :3
This is such a nice message–I made childish ‘aw’ noises at Jackie for a couple minutes straight because of it! It means a whole lot to hear that I’m writing something worth reading here, I strive to give Gin details and depth that work off of the bread crumbs Tite left us—-and honestly? I have seriously considered creating an AO3 compilation of previous plotted threads, concepts, one-shots, and other drabbles I have in mind / within old notes, old docs, that I’ve yet to truly publish. This isn’t the first time someone’s suggested it to me, and I’m starting to take it as a sign—-that I’m actually producing content that’s worthwhile.
I’ve been writing Gin specifically for close to a decade collectively, I doubt I’ll run out of content for him any time soon, new or old and “refurbished”, to post onto AO3… I’m just wary of overwhelming myself as a writer, feeling stress to complete invisible deadlines, the renewed potential for plagiarism, and burning myself out along the way. I think once I jump the hurdle and at least make an account… the writing and muse will surely follow.
For now, I’m working on accumulating more drabbles onto my blog at a somewhat regular basis. I intend for my next drabble to be focused on more world-building in Gin’s Hitman AU and how he’s picked up by Aizen to parallel / symbolize his canon storyline into a modern context. Drabbles will (hopefully) become a monthly project for me, and I intend for each one to be within the 4-5 page range. Inari AU is also near the top of my list—-in case the Hitman AU drabble loses momentum.
I rambled lots there. Regardless, I’m really excited ! People like you are the real motivation, the genuine ‘reward’ for me. Please don’t ever stop reading!
