I love you, Always. (a lams fanfiction)
He could hear the loud mumbles through the solid oak door, even before Alex slammed it open.
“Jefferson?” John asked like it was even a question.
“Jefferson!” Alex screamed.
“What’d he do this time?” John instantly regrets asking as Alex lets out all his bottled up steam.
“Washington never listens! I told him, Don't listen to Thomas’s plan, it’ll only lead to disaster! But no! He goes with Jefferson’s ‘For The People’ plan.”
“Well, that’s too bad. What happened?”
“Surprise surprise! We lost profit because his plan included giving money back every time something went wrong!” Alex fumbles with the instant coffee pod, making his voice rise even more as he makes his after work coffee cup. “People took advantage and made false stories and got twice the money back like the plan says! We have lost three-hundred and thirty-four dollars in two weeks!”
“You counted exactly?”
“Yeah.” John takes the pod from Alex’s clenched, clammy, calloused palms. And places it gently into the Keurig. Alex stares at him astonished as if he had just ended world hunger or created world peace. As the soothing sounds of the flowing coffee enter Alex’s favorite mug. The mug has the words “best son” labeled on it, he got it from Washington, but Alex crossed out “worlds best son” and wrote, “not your son.” Alex watches the coffee intently until the final drop. Alex swipes the coffee off the counter, not even bothering with sugar, milk or even cooling it down, and takes a big swig. In minutes he finishes the luxury in a cup. Suddenly, John feels his waist being coiled by warm, familiar arms. He bends down to embrace Alex back. “Better?” he asks.
“Better,” Alex admits as he clings onto John wearing a mask of light pink over his tawny beige skin.
“I-I love you,” Alex finally says after a moment of silence.
“I know, I love me too,” Alex pushes away, looking up at Johns smirking face.
“I hate you.” he lies
“But I thought you just said you loved me?” John teased again.
He seizes Alex’s wrist and locked his arms around him. After a considerable amount of time, leans into Alex’s ear, taking in the familiar aroma of fresh apple scent that locked into his wispy, long, hazel locks, and smooth, rich coffee. At last, John whispers into Alex’s ear faintly,
“I love you, Always.”
