Okay SO: 🎅🏻🧦
I put myself on the hook for this one, I volunteered fair and square but holy hell is this a finicky challenging pile of work.
I can't tell if I love or hate doing this, but I PROMISED my sister I would.
This Santa Stocking is for Sean, my Not- A- Brother-in-law. My first time using a Bucilla kit and I could have picked a simpler design but I DID NOT.
I have way more than ten photos so you'll see several reblogs probably.
Starting at the beginning, October 1. I started by laying out his name on tissue paper, and attached paper to felt, then sewed gold braid to spell his name.
Fuckup number One actually set my expectations: the improvised name had an initial S that was TOO DAMN TALL. Covered where the topmost sequin trim was designed to go!
Had to unpick half the letter, squish it down and still have it be a nice shape.
Then I started sequins. Dear gods, I've gotten good at sewing sequins two months later.
Embroidery of background tree, and then embroidery, sequins and applique (over and over) for the trees on the right.
(right there's only ONE TREE on the right. SO FAR...!)
To be continued...!
