Hi there!! Do you have any tips on coming up with a bachelor thesis?
Hey there anon! You mean the topic right?
Well there are a lot of ways to approach this. The following tips are what worked for me and my study field. That doesn’t necessary work for anybody or any study field!
- Make a list of things you are interested in and see if you can find anything in that area which you can relate to your study
- Get inspiration from life, what you see, hear, read. From news, friends, family, professors, class etc. ( I had a notebook just for random words/ideas that pooped up)
- If you got a rough idea, do some research. Use any key words you can come up with. See if you can find enough good and reliable sources. If you can’t find any or not enough you should consider to change your topic since sources are very important to prove every information you write down in your thesis. (At the state of research I realized that I felt unconformable with the first topic I've chosen which resulting in changing my topic.)
- After your research talk to the professor you are writing your BT. He/She will give you advice, more information and ideas. Maybe even a direction, sources or topics you could include into your thesis.
- You can always brainstorm with people around you if you need more ideas/input.
- Don’t be afraid to get in contact with your professor if you have a problem like you are stuck at some point and need advice! It is his/her job to help you!
