J.Rojas is a music producer from and based in Sydney. “It’s cool, we have a lot of great local talent which is cool to have guy smacking really cool stuff in Sydney. Dudes like Papertoy, Meare, Kanyon, Mk Grands, Badrapper, Camus and heaps of other guys!”He is currently doing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Western Sydney. “It really changed the way I approach music, which is cool.” He really got into making Electronic music after he heard tracks from Lapalux, Flying Lotus, etc. “The whole ‘beats’ thing really connected with me and I guess those kind of guys really influenced me making the kind of music I do now.” But before creating Electronic music, he started off by playing guitar in a band. “I like to think of my music as Ambient Electronica with jabs of Pop and Hip-Hop in places. I really like to collaborate with vocalists. Making instrumentals for other people is something I really enjoy doing as well.” His influences vary from anything rob to Hip-Hop. “I love finding new music and that kind of inspires me too. Hearing new things that I haven't heard before that I connect with really inspires me. But I listen to heaps of stuff like Mariah Carey and that kind of inspires me too in a different way.” He recently released his new EP, which includes a track featuring his friend from the UK, Harry Edwards. “He produces some really cool stuff, definitely check him out!” His EP was released through Moose Records, which is a big thing for him, since he has been a fan of those guys for a while. “Getting to release something through them was a really big thing for me so that's pretty exciting!”
