Still no drawings, but I've been messing around with Blockbench in the meantime.

I'm planning on taking Exploits of a Masked Mercenary in a slightly different direction as well. The next iteration I'm thinking will be called "A Mob Hunter's Guide", in which Hunter explains to the reader how to effectively fight and capture monsters. I'll miss the catchiness of the original title, but it just doesn't convey the new concept very well. Chapter One is still being written, and I even have a few ideas for chapters and arcs later down the line.

Feedback, as always, is very appreciated. Reply, repost, message, or roast me if you wish. I'll take anything.

Man, does time fly. My plan was to post a new page of Exploits of a Masked Mercenary at least every week, but it's been two already. This was actually the first thing I drew before the first page of the comic, with the idea that I would release it as cover art for the full chapter. The resolution is like an eighth the size of the comic pages, so I'll either have to repurpose the traced version I used for page 3 or make a new cover.

I found a trail ruin next to a pillager outpost while I was exploring, and the pillagers actually let me dig it up!

They kept a parameter around the site to keep the other monsters out while I was digging, and I even got a photo of their chief:

Threats of death aside, I think this went really well. Unfortunately I couldn't get any further than this before they decided I wasn't finding anything useful to them, and I only had enough time to take these photos of the site before the monsters got ahold of it. But don't fret, I'll make sure those greys get what's coming to them...

How would Jab Cab react to seeing Kairos? Either her alone or with an army. Finding out that there is more to certain mobs than the main three dimensions typically sees can be a real shock to anyone.

And as for interactions, would he attempt to “collect her head” as others have before?

Seeing something new is always an excitement for Jab. He'd definitely be terrified to see a two-meter-tall vex flying through the air, especially with an army, but after he flees from the situation he's likely to return.

Even if he can't gain a material profit from the situation he can at least try to get credit for the discovery. Depending on which he thinks is more valuable, he would either hunt her down for her head or spy on her to learn more about her. Possibly both.
