I think during the whole time I’ve been playing this game, the one person I’ve more regularly kept in contact with more than anyone is probably @nabesima.

Like there are probably 2 dozen people I will talk with on and off in waves like TerraFirma, Peyelle, Valo, Sunreon, Librum, Crowe, Whiskerwing, etc, for a few examples (some of which are also my FB friends). But Nabs and I end up chattering about old salty veteran business the most often (and stuff we wish FR would fix or add). Which probably makes sense given that her dragon is Lydo’s datemate. But idk if that was something we ever figured would last or anything because she started off as one of his fangirls back in the day and he kinda had a lot of those. These days even if we haven’t talked in weeks or a few months I just dump my extra familiars on her if I manage to get something she doesn’t. lol And I think she’s one of my few FR friends that’s been consistently playing the whole time, even though she or I will kind of just play low key brewing junk or doing dailies. We’re also horrific fantastic hoarders like you wouldn’t believe. lol I think the cutest thing of all was that Lydo was my oddball dragon with an accent, like I based him off a Russian character I’d had for a few years. And lo, the dragon that became Lydo’s mate is owned by a Russian player.♥

like 3+ years ago when I first really made good friends with @dirt-lizard, I worried that Lydo wasn’t very cool because he has eyespot secondary and for the most part, that gene has never been very popular and everyone hated it. She sent me a shimmer scroll as a present to solve that worry. I have held on to that scroll this entire time. I held on to it because it was the most meaningful thing ever to me and I was so very gembroke for so long on this site, I never could have afforded it back then. Anything that I ever wanted to have shimmer, I bred for, or waited for. Idk why this is a thing with me. :|

Okay, so, no idea if anyone actually cares about me being salty about the horns beyond my angry ranting last night for like 10 minutes like “ew, this person is so salty”. Like between last night and now I did lose about 20 people. l o l (But I got all of them while I wasn’t blogging the last week, sooooo... ???) And I literally did lose sleep over the damn horns last night and my stomach has been twisted on and off all day. So let me explain why:

Firstly: I own like 25 roundhorns. Most of which are on dragons. Regarding bestial characters, when I give them horns, especially large ones, that is like my #virilebeastaesthetic. Sound weird? Sure. But that’s literally how it works a lot in nature. Big horns, big racks, big display. You get the idea. Big horns on my dragons, even on my non-FR characters, are my aesthetic. Big horns on [my] small male spirals = handsome devils. Big horns on [my] male skydancers = idk but it reminds me of slicked back hair. Big horns on [my] female tundras = scrappy and capable huntress. Big horns on [my] female snappers = GORGEOUS JUGGERNAUT AMAZON. Spirals are really intense dragons to me, and I love them. Like everyone knows I love male tundras, but I doubt anyone knows I love male spirals almost as much, or the same. They just take more effort and funds for me to put together so I don’t have as many. Anyone ever notice my FR icon was a spiral for like 3 years straight? Yeah, with roundhorns. Do I like the recolors? Yes. Colors are always good. Does this resolve the roundhorn issue for me? No. The horns have lost their ruggedness and are so much smaller, they lose so much of what made them one of my favorite apparel items in the first place. Will I get over this nonsense and stop whining? idk maybe??? I rarely actually bitched this dramatically about any apparel stuff in the past. Like I said, I normally used to complain that we needed more options. Do the horns look good on anyone else in your lair at least? Coatls??? But I don’t like coatls and I only have one so this doesn’t help me at all. orz

I’ve been holding on to a small stack of scrolls for like 3+ years, some of which I bought, some of which were very kind gifts from the community when an ex-friend that was stalking me tried to “call me out” for having any at all and for literally being more sociable than she was. (She was even sending death threats to people and other aggressive scary shit.)  ANYWAY. I’m very paranoid about wasting what scrolls I have left on sudden whims and not dream dragons, since it takes such an eternity to save up for these. And I didn’t have enough saved to buy a new one last time they became available in that 3 day window. Plus, I am that kind of player that likes to have a small cushion so I can spare stuff for unexpected surprises.   Have you SEEN the prices of limited accents though??? Look at the cost of folks that have classy custom accents on every dragon in their lair, then compare that to someone who just has a few scrolls. lol

I think it’s normal and fine if you feel uncomfortable about it but I also think it’s normal that people ask that–I’ve been asked a few times and I’ve asked someone else once (tho never obvious lore dragons). It is part of the game mechanics and a lot of people don’t see it past that. You could try putting a note in your profile or something about it, though–that would hopefully prevent you from being put into an uncomfortable situation.

This is a good point about the profile thing. Mine is kind of a mess and I should really find a new way to update it or something. Also yes I totally get that people will message to borrow dragons, just to clarify. I’m weirdly on the fence about a ton of stuff like this, like I get both sides but still ultimately end up baffled and in need of blabbering about it to help myself process and assimilate things better. I think I’m just starting to climb out of my reclusive phase just slightly, which is why I came back to blog. I miss interacting like this with you guys and it feels so cathartic and heals my weary soul. (Thank you for this input btw, I appreciate it. ♥)

D: Bah, all these updates is making me tempted to revive my FR account even though I’m still kinda miffed about getting a warning for having a dragon with fart in its name (like seriously its a T rated website).

Man, even I got a warning once for a stupid name. Like wayyy back in the hayday of the flambebe memes. lol But IDK... I sorta want to say not to worry about rejoining? I’ve just never been able to make myself stop playing for some reason, and idk why. Blogging here was some of the best times I ever had in a community, and FR is probably the only fandom-ish thing I’ve ever been truly active in. I just started feeling better lately (in some ways) and had a really strong urge to come blab about silly dragon things and just vent pure nonsense. I’ve been on FB the whole time since I left, but the atmosphere is like 90% different there, and you can’t just ACT like a jovial capslocking nitwit there without people thinking you’re a legit dumbass and giving you severe crap for it. :/ ANYWAY. o_o If you really do feel like playing again, I’d say to try starting a bit fresh, like purge the lair a bit. Or at least that’s what I’m going to attempt [and likely fail] to do. lol
