“Revolutionary idea, turning the competition into your co-lead … Have you lost your mind, Campbell?”
Serena looks up to see Jac Naylor looming over her in the Peace Garden.
“No, really … what were you thinking?”
Serena calmly sips her coffee. “You’ve seen her in theatre,” she finally replies. “Her talent’s been criminally wasted so far, and if making her co-lead is what gets me my trauma unit ...”
“She is quite brilliant,” Jac admits begrudgingly. “She knows it too. Ric called her a power-hungry megalomaniac.”
“She’s not like that, Jac.” Serena smiles. “Not like us.”
“It’s your funeral if you’re wrong, Campbell.”
