Pinch hitters will make something for requests that can't be matched or if a gifter has to leave the exchange after matches have been made, and they won't have to stick to creation minimums.

It's here! Sign-ups are open until November 30, matches will then be sent out as soon as possible and the creating deadline is February 13, reveals happen on Valentine's day!

If you are unsure which fandoms to sign up for, you can check in the summary on Ao3 which shows all fandoms that have been requested and offered so far, and adjust your offers and requests accordingly! Of course you can also add requests that don't have offers yet and hope someone will sign up with them later on, and share this post in your fandom to get others with the same ships to sign up!

November 2025 writing challenge

I've written something for every day of November, and some bonus fics besides :D over 20k words total!

I combined the prompts for the different November events' prompt lists that I was taking prompts from to have them all in one place: black's the drabble challenge which I took the list pic from, brown are for comfyvember, in red I added trope flip fic prompts, and poly ship prompts are blue!

Berena AU where Bernie and Serena are not yet together. Fletch doesn’t get stabbed so there’s no kiss on the floor of the theatre. It’s Bernie who pushes for Fielding to get a Psych evaluation and Serena who’s wary of ‘assigning a label’, until Bernie points out that, of the two of them, she’s the one who’s most familiar with the effects war has on the bodies and minds of the people who serve in them.

Bernie does spend Christmas with Serena, but her kids are with Marcus. Elinor is extremely put out, making a snide comment about ‘another of mum’s waifs and strays’, Jason being the other one. She’s still mad at Serena for inviting Jason to move in with her, jealous that Serena’s making an effort to stick to some sort of schedule for him in the way she ‘never’ did for Elinor.

She’s still mad at Serena, if not angrier, when she turns up at the hospital, wanting to do a piece and annoyed that her mother ‘didn’t tell me’ (she did) that she’d given up the role of deputy CEO. Bernie’s gone outside for a coffee and a cigarette when Elinor storms out into the car park, Serena futilely trying to placate her daughter. And it’s Bernie who saves Serena when Elinor drives at her mum – unlike Jason in canon, Bernie’s spleen is okay, but her right leg is injured. However, she insists that they look after Elinor (she applies ‘field medicine’ to her own leg) who hit her head on the steering wheel and it’s Bernie who realises that Elinor’s high. She calls in a former colleague at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham who specialises in neurosurgery and has some experience of treating addicts, too.

Serena’s horrified at what’s happened and can’t believe Bernie is prioritising her daughter, who’s repeatedly been rude to her, rather than her own injury. She gets a bit emotional about it and Bernie, surprisingly, hugs her and tells her that she and Andy (the QEH colleague) will do everything that they can for Elinor.

Elinor makes it through her surgery and shamefacedly apologises, before agreeing to going for rehabilitation.

It’s Ric and Serena who eventually work on Bernie’s leg once Elinor’s secure in the ICU and Ric is surprised by how much Serena’s been affected by Bernie’s actions. Later, over a coffee in the consultants’ office on AAU, Serena admits she’s begun to feel attracted to Bernie and Ric encourages her to ‘go for it’.

Once Elinor’s gone off to residential rehabilitation place, and Bernie’s back at work full time, Serena starts making overtures to Bernie, who one day turns around and says, quite casually, ‘I want to kiss you’. Serena’s momentarily speechless, before snogging her silly!

-- Been thinking about this for the past 24 hours. Doubt it'll get written, because I am still struggling with stress, insomnia, and the bloody PTSD, which is making it hard to write, but I thought I'd share this here anyway, should anyone be interested.
