CUNTY VINTAGE DIVA TOURNEY - ROUND ONE
Mike Nesmith
Jack Bruce
Vote for the artist you think is the cuntiest of all (or of the two.)
Mike Nesmith (1942-2021) The Monkees - guitar and vocals; First National Band - frontman; solo Songs: "You Just May Be the One," "Joanne" Propaganda: "His temper and diva personality are legendary. Fellow Monkee Davy Jones said this about Mike: 'Mike could be quite tall when he wanted to be. Not to mention rude, arrogant, belligerent and aggressive–and that was on a good day.' He threw tantrums of historical proportions. He once punched a hole through the wall of the Beverly Hotel when record label lawyer Herb Moelis pointed out that if Mike walked away from The Monkees, he'd breach his contract. Mike's punch landed within inches of Moelis's head. Mike replied, 'That could have been your face, motherfucker.'...He was as talented as he was cunty."
Jack Bruce (1943-2014) Cream - bass and vocals; John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers - bass; The Graham-Bond Organisation - bass Songs: "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room" Propaganda: "The sweet lil angel face combined with that voice takes me out every time. Who allowed him to slay this hard. He gives me gender envy"

Humbly presenting propaganda for Jack Bruce bc he deserves better. Let’s see if I can get my thoughts in order!
The dude was raised by socialists and stuck by that for the rest of his life. Got into a prestigious music school but dropped out bc they said “this school or jazz” and he chose jazz. Was a known trouble maker but also an English nerd.
Famously incredibly charming. Regularly and intentionally picked fights w Ginger Baker (who was. Uh. Like That.) and would get back at him by charming the girls Ginger was into so they wouldn’t get with him (slay).
Insanely talented bassist. Gorgeous voice. Was very aware of both these facts.
When he was legit on his deathbed he called up Ginger, said “fuck you” and then hung up and ignored all of Ginger’s attempts to call him back, therefore getting the last word in their decades long feud. Could you be more iconic? No, no you cannot.
Also, my favorite of his blog posts: https://www.jackbruce.com/jacks-diary/132-29-august-1998?fbclid=PAQ0xDSwMBuPpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABp-Qjs6ib1gA-v8xNl7okH9_-eLqFgqdMgqjhRZQiAmYH4wy1UdZNn6l5i4qK_aem_0oxeEHOrwaEXdfSXcOpUTg
