as someone who lives outside the UK, the word of the people was all the info i had on the age verification law imposed by the UK. yes, it is absolutely fucking unethical, a breach of severe privacy, and just made vulnerable groups of people even more at danger.

how the fuck did no one mention that the UK government has this absolute shit of a track record with data? forget pension plans, government service workers' information --the government was compromising the identities of intellligence officers working undercover in another nation, which could've most probably lead to their death.

this goes beyond 'do not trust the government', there is a wholeass country, one of the most important in the world, actively fucking over the lives of their citizens on a yearly basis. you would think shit like this is common in smaller countries (speaking as someone from one of those said countries), but the fucking United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
