Jeez, I had no clue so many practical effects were used for Civil War and The Winter Soldier! I have an even deeper respect for stuntmen than I do now!

stuntsunlimited: SU member Jack Gill recently shot an episode of @jaylenosgarage teaching Chris Evans how to drive his new 700 HP 1967 Camaro on the track at Willow Springs. Jack was a driving double for Chris in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This episode will air in August.

In an interview for his upcoming film Homefront, Jason Statham voiced his support for an Oscar category for stunt performers, saying they rarely get any credit in Hollywood.

“I think it is an overlooked category,” Statham told Vanity Fair, “[Stunt performers] are the unsung heroes. They really are. Nobody is giving them any credibility. They’re risking their necks. And then you’ve got poncy actors pretending like they’re doing [the stunts].”

Both Macaulay Culkin and Elijah Wood were trained by the stunt coordinator, Jack Gill and rehearsed for 6 weeks prior to this scene so that they could be comfortable and act while hanging 180 feet above the water. When Macaulay's character was dropped by his mother (Wendy Crewson) the movie needed a shot of the real Macaulay and not a stunt double falling away from camera on the actual cliff. After discussions with Macaulay's parents' and with Macaulay, he agreed to do a 30 foot fall on a cable on the actual cliff, 180 feet above a freezing Lake Superior, but he wanted one thing in return for this act of bravery; a BB gun. Macaulay performed the cable fall perfectly and was given his BB gun.
