I knew I saved all of my viewers choice tickets for a reason!-) A Maine movie made in Maine about Mainers and their wild animals. How the couple cares for them and how the animals care for the couple. That how this nug can sum it up but the movie was much more. A must see!

Wild Home: Home Is where The Heart Is

This is my favorite documentary out of all the ones watched during the three day festival. This I feel is because it is so closely linked to my major and very much had a profound impact on me because of it. This film tells the story of how Bob Miner, a Vietnam War veteran found his calling in life when he found himself way back in the Maine woods rehabilitating abused and abandoned animals. Bob along with his wife use there home for animals of all shapes and sizes to come to seek refuge such as lions, tigers, hyenas, kangaroos, black bears, and 200 other species of animal. The great lengths these to caring people went to help these animals just astounded me when watching this film. It really shows that if you work hard enough anything is posibble. I know Bob would say the same as he found his two true loves coming hand and hand, which would be his wife and the animals they care for and have made apart of there family. Upon watching this film I had a huge urge to go out and peruse my dream as a wildlife biologist just as he had done being these animals and the life he had made for himself. Since there animal sanctuary is in Maine and is only one hour away from Unity College campus, as well as being open to the public, I exclaimed "we are going there!" to my friend as soon as the film had come to an end. I was supprised to find out however that the night was not over yet when Bob Miner himself along with his wife stepped out of the audience as surprise guests.

Hearts as big as their zoo.

Wild Home is a documentary about Bob and Julia Miner and their home, which over the course of many years has been turned into a wildly successful, as well as healing, zoo. The characters are incredibly funny and do a spectacular job of telling their stories and experiences of meeting one another and creating their unique home in the forests of Maine. The zoo is filled with over 200 species of animals, including: bears, lions, tigers, hyenas, monkeys, and kangaroos. The struggle that Bob experienced being  war veteran is a wonderful dynamic to show the power of what can happen when people do what they love to heal past wounds. This is a must see documentary for Mainers, animal lovers, and comedians alike.

9) Wild home

Wild home was a very moving and amazing story. It is about a wildlife park in Maine and the daily inner working of the park. The main focus though didn’t seem to be the park itself as much as about the couple who run it. The directors used a lot of different angles and seasons filming for several years on this park. And now I really would like to visit this park and go see it for myself.  If I was the director I probably would of had more on the animals in the park but at the same time I think of would change the story and the only reason I would focus more on the animals is because I am an animal lover so that was wild home.
