Is this anything
My favorite thing about the first Hornblower movie is Midshipman Simpson's skull tattoo on his hand, which as far as I can tell is only there so you can tell he’s the bad guy. Is it historically accurate? Absolutely not. Is it corny? Of course! But most importantly, is it peak Boat Media? Absolutely.
Hey tumblr,
Give me examples of murderous British military men in historical dramas, I want to se how common the trope is. They should like to kill people, probably portrayed as an antagonist, be in the military, and be historical (real or fictional). Bonus points if they attempt to kill the protagonist. Please do contribute to the following list:
Jack Simpson (Horatio Hornblower)
William Tavington (The Patriot)
John Graves Simcoe (Turn: Washington's Spies)
I think I'm the only Jack Simpson fan and yknow what. That's okay
