I made a couple more text post memes last night. This time I wanted to focus on Cooler and Frieza since Popsicle is Cooler’s son.

And immediately the thought of Gabe in a frilly dress made my brain go !!!

Gwyn do you remember that Gabe was pretty much my dress up doll when hes was a very new OC? I most vividly remember drawing him in crusader armour some... 9 (?) years ago... But enough about that. Here is the maid dress:

Edit: Can't believe I forgot to add the cross on his forehead. Or the rosary dangling from his choker. Or at least adding one somewhere else. Oh my, Gabe, I am sorry. I failed you.

More tipsy bards kissing in a dark pirate tavern, because @mutantenfisch‘s sketch was just so very very lovely. The way he drew the faces made it very easy for me to figure out where to put lights and shadows. So it was a perfect practice piece for me and I am super happy with the result. It seems like I am recovering from my recent stubborn art slump. I certainly learned a lot about painting skin and mixing colours, even though I didn’t dare to add freckles on Arvinio or adjust Harri’s skin colour to be slightly darker. Well, I’ll try again next time.

Just as I was about to complain that I I am stuck at my parents house without any art supplies (except for water colours but no paper and an old graphic tablet with broken pen pressure), I remembered that I at least have my old sketchbooks here.

So in order to sketch a little Finrod in a kilt, I decided to search for my old design for him. It has been a while (years) since I drew Silmarillion fan art on a daily basis.

What I did not expect was to open the first page of my oldest surviving sketchbook and to find this:

My OCs Akrim and Mino, the lnce I painted most recently.

And Silmarillion doodles. Some heavily Phobs inspired Angbang. And a Finrod chibi all excited about meeting a human.

It's starting all over again. Full circle.

And has it really been 8 years since I read the Silmarillion??? I recently started to re-read it but I got only about 100 pages in. And I left the book at my place. Dammit.
