In Trivia Murder Party 2 (P6, PS), if exactly two players are sent to the Killing Floor in a game with 3 or more players, a rare minigame based on Quiplash has a chance to appear. The minigame functions the same as the game series it is based upon, and the losing player dies. Phil Ridarelli reprises his role as Schmitty, who is held captive by Shadow Lurker [REDACTED] and is audibly more fearful than usual.

One of the hosts for Mad Verse City (P5), Shadowmaster MC, is a real life rapper in Chicago. He was recruited by the Jackbox team, and audio lead Andy Poland recalls Shadowmaster improvising his own rap over Poland’s beat for the game’s theme song. Director Ben Jacobs “got emotional” over it.

Roomerang (P9) was the first game revealed for The Jackbox Party Pack 9; in lieu of a proper trailer, the development for the game was shared in a series of official live streams titled Inside the Box.

The game was pitched using a prototype on Google Jamboard, similar to testing the game on paper.

According to lead artist Hector Padilla, the aesthetic was directed to “warp realism” and “juxtapose reality with fantasy” in a way that reality TV does; Padilla drew inspiration from the mixed media art style of The Amazing World of Gumball.
