I was wondering what the good doctors of The Institute like to do on coffee breaks? (And just how hot is the gossip tea?)

there’s always different testing, routine work, lab shifts and meetings going on, so everyone’s busy at various points of the day… but i always kind of imagined there were break rooms throughout the facilities and anyone nearby can stop in for drinks or to use a microwave.
i can only imagine that occasionally it’s just jack and keats in the break room closest to the nursery laughing about the Antics, meanwhile ivan walks in for a Sit Down Break because they just finished a surgery in a different ward and they’re Drenched in blood
“… Hey, Ivan.”
“Shit. Did not see you.”
“No, it’s fine! That’s… not your blood, is it? Because if it is-“
“No. Someone else’s. Need to shower.”
Jack slowly let go of the breath he was holding, nodding.
“Do… You need any help-?”
Keats reached over and punched his arm, grinning.
“Wow, Kagawa.”
“I’m just offering! I’m pregnant, not useless. You didn’t even call me for your strike team.”
Ivan stood and strode across the room, standing before Jack and gripping his hand gently. With an unreadable expression, they swiped a ruby thumb over his knuckles.
“I do not need you to bathe me, as interesting as that sounds. Team is fine without you, and you need the rest.”
Jack flushed at the strange comment and the feeling of the blood on his fingers, completely fixated on Ivan’s ruined gloves before Keats’ giggled and snapped him out of it.
“R-right… Thank you, I - Sorry I suggested giving you a shower, I-“
“We will shower together some other time. До свидания.”
Ivan left the room as quietly as they had come, leaving Jack staring at his stained knuckles and Keats barely holding back a laugh.

they exist kinda in this combined au of characters i share with @knifegoats - but the two in the picture are mine, dusty and corrin. basically we have a couple of stories with priests and i was like "PUT THEM IN ONE CLERGY. AMEN"
dusty is from an original story where a devout, warm, golden-retriever of a priest is possessed by so much holy energy that a demon is sent from hell SPECIFICALLY to cull him. dusty meanwhile is none the wiser, and when the "pagan" newcomer Charon approaches him and his church (at a demon safe distance) he welcomes them with open arms and love. they're annoyed by him and pretty set on killing him at first, and eventually decide that if they give him what he wants - intimacy, sex, Pregnancy which he has a kink for - that they can knock him up and kill him with their demon spawn.
which is a sound ass plan until they fall hard in love with him, and then it's a matter of "dusty really wants to be a parent and he loves me back and goddammit my demon baby is gonna kill him"
and then we all pretend that dusty makes it <//3
CORRIN came to be because we were creating the "clergy" and i had this idea to make a really sex-positive polycule of priests who were all queer and gay. corrin is dusty's best friend and the ddddeeeaccon??? of the church they operate. he's bright, and easygoing, but he definitely struggled a lot with Queer Christian Trauma growing up that occasionally results in him needing support from the other clergy-members.
corrin knows dusty's kink and isn't opposed to the inherent sexuality of pregnancy himself, so i have created Multiple instances where he is either Pregnant somehow himself, or teasing sweet dusty for outgrowing his cassock and playing with his belly <3

FUCK i like this idea so much… it feels like something that might happen to fraser if he really had done something Scary to satisfy his patron (the extinction, the fear of the end of the world)… i imagine his body reacts to that as if it were perfectly full - though i imagine he’d look distended, heavy as his stomach gurgled away at all the Likely radioactive material inside…

YES so jack loves sweet almond anything it is legitimately his weakness. he’ll take any flavored coffee or tea like that and he’s usually always got some kind of tea on hand!

fraser, my radioactive boy, runs so hot that he’ll take any cold drink… he’s secretly fond of (embarrassed to admit it) lime slushies!! any kind of blended ice thing will make him happy
keats also belongs to @knifegoats but she strikes me as a tea drinker… 👀

and augh yes!!! so the Institute I’ll need to explain overall in its own post - Audrey Lewis is a geneticist who runs a massive research laboratory and campus in coastal Maine, and they hire doctors abs researchers from all different backgrounds to rally around studying pregnancy, focusing on the gender study aspect and queer reproductive health
keats, or by their full name, wednesday keats, was hired to be a speech therapist for audrey’s first test subject and eventual husband oliver! he speaks norwegian fluently and not much english and also is 98% non verbal (he comes across intense, he’s just autistic but so is audrey)
she eventually takes on a bigger therapist role for the community there and helps jack in the nursery! (wouldn’t you know it, studying pregnancy and birth means Having Babies)
they’re a sweetheart, passionate and friendly, and Very Fertile
