O k ay so starting tomorrow I’ll start going Out to feed the magpies and jackdaws again. I mean they do take the food from my windowsill and I don’t think they’re getting hurt from that (I mean they could sit on the windowsill but they don’t so they fly and get the food instead) bc I mean. If there was a chance they’d get hurt from that they wouldn’t do it. But I still worry they might get hurt somehow (like accidentally fly into my window) so from tomorrow on I’ll go out and feed them bc that makes them get more used to me too. And I don’t have to worry about them getting hurt.

Today was the last day of school for this semester and it was nice!

I got to school early so I just hung around and then I went outside w OG and LM, MG showed up after a while so the four of us just talked a bit.

Me and my class gathered in a classroom w the photography teacher (our mentors weren’t there) and we chatted before going to the lil stage at school to hear AN and DV sing and the principal talk and yknow that kinda stuff. I sat w AS and his friend and talked a little bit.

After school I hung out w LO, D, A and AD and it was. Boring as fuck. We took this super long route to get to this restaurant where A ate and me and LO talked a lot cuz whenever we walked the others wouldn’t wait for us which just made me irritated. Like they looked around and saw us far behind but they didn’t wait. It was fucking rude.

AD treated me and D to ice cream so that was about the only nice thing abt that, and after that me and LO went to the train station so we could catch our buses and also bc D and the dudes were just fucking rude again and wouldn’t wait. Smfh.

My phone died after a while bc it does that whenever it wants nowadays and I couldn’t find anywhere to charge it so the first bus ride was hell. I luckily managed to sleep a bit there tho so it wasn’t all too bad.

I had to wait for half an hour for the next bus which was I guess a bit positive cuz I could charge my phone at the train station there, but it was still super boring. And these fuckin kids kept staring at me.

I went to mom’s house after arriving in my hometown but I didn’t stay there for long bc I was in a bad mood and stuff. Now that I’m actually home I feel better tho. I don’t have the energy to go out and feed Te and the jackdaws today so I just put some food out on my windowsill again. I know that they know there’s food there now, like this morning I heard some jackdaws fly and take food from the kitchen’s windowsill and I saw one get some food from mine too. Idk. It’s probably not good to ‘bring them so close to my living space’ since we’ll move this summer but. Idk. I need to see them as much as possible before we move cuz mom has Forbidden Me from feeding birds once we’re living w her. Mainly cuz her neighbor has a phobia of birds. But yeah.

My body’s all tired and sore rn so I’m gonna take it easy for the rest of the night.

The funniest thing abt feeding the jackdaws and magpies in my hometown is honestly that it feels like a little game when you’ve thrown out food, cuz they just will not eat at first if you’re looking at them. So you gotta throw out food and then turn away and look at them out of the corner of your eye, if you look they stop and stare at you and stop eating. I honestly think they think it’s a game too. It’s fun!

I think I’ve accidentally made all the birds in my neighborhood, big and small, addicted to fucking nutmixes

This is bad both bc they shouldn’t eat too many nuts bc they’re lightly salted (I’m looking to buy unsalted and unflavored nuts when I have the money) but also bc I cANT AFFORD TO BUY NUTS EVERYDAY

Honestly

Birds are such a happy pill for me!

I was still a bit down earlier while I was still waiting for my dad but when he said he’d take a while longer to come and pick me up I decided to go and sit outside our apartment building a bit. Mainly cuz I saw a magpie outside and he was eating trash so I felt like I could go out and give him some nuts. So I did.

Magpies are really shy and kinda suspicious of everything but I managed to get the magpie I named Trash Eater (TE for short) to be more comfy around me. He got scared when I looked at him at first and flew away a lot when I looked in his direction, but then after a while I think he realized I wasn’t gonna hurt him. I started putting nuts on the table I was sitting at after a while and when I looked away he actually jumped up and took them. He kinda fell down first which looked silly cuz he did that almost every time but yeah.

It was just me and Trash Eater at first but then a jackdaw showed up and suddenly 8 others joined the lil guy. I fed them and TE and two pigeons showed up and just kinda walked around nearby (I think they ate when the jackdaws walked away from them and weren’t so close) but when a seagull flew down I just stared it down til it left. Twice. I don’t mind seagulls all too much but I know that if I provide them with food they will think they own the street I live on EVEN MORE which will end up making them more aggressive. Seagulls are aggressive lil fuckers. Staring it down worked though because it yelled and flew away the two times it was there. I think I got through to it and made it realize I wasn’t planning on feeding it any time soon.

I’ve noticed it’s hard to feed the jackdaws that are lower in ‘rank’ (I’m guessing those who keep to the side a bit are lower in rank, they’re either younger or low-ranked males OR females without mates bc those are lower in rank) because as soon as I threw food in their direction others came and took it. I did manage to give one nut to one of the outsider jackdaws tho so that’s good. I think I managed to give all of them a good amount of food.

These old ladies in the neighborhood stared at me and I’m suuure they talked shit about the fact that I fed birds but like. I don’t give a Fuck. I mean just the fact that I managed to feed some jackdaws and two magpies (a smaller one showed up after a while) was enough to make me really happy and it pulled me out of the slump I’ve been in since this morning. So yeah. They can talk shit all they want. Idc.
