Reagan Youth's very first, and only roadie who happened to teach me physics at Forest Hills High School. I'll never forget him driving the bands in his Dodge Dart, and the Beastie Boys were tagging along on our way to a gig opening for the Misfits at some college in Pennsylvania. We were running late as usual and I started to notice Jack DePalma was pushing the pedal to the metal and I said "can you slow down, the car is packed and your going past the speedometer, I don't want to die." His response "Paul, I'm your physics teacher and I know the rate if speed that would make this mass ...yada yada yada" and who was I to argue, I was getting 50's on his exams. Of course we missed the exit but Jack backed up on the freeway, "No time to drive to the next exit and turn around!". Well we made it to the gig in time and it turned out to be a memorable one and a big reason for that; the truly indispensable, always influential and the most incredible Jack DePalma. I'm so glad to see him still looking great and going strong. Da' Band will always remember all he did for us, and he did way more than you'd expect. "What's Johnny Doing Out On Tuesday Night" was his rant, his quote, and Dave Insurgent loved it obviously and started "Degenerated" with that line. When he met my dad my physics teacher/roadie put my dad in a headlock. Frickin' hilarious seeing my dad freak out at that when all he was expecting was a simple handshake. Awesome stuff I tells ya'. He was essential to the original Reagan Youth, when we were just kids in high school, friends starting a band, and he was there to guide us in the best ways possible. He's not someone who should ever be forgotten. So I just had to make this post. ☮️💓 &🏴 (Thanx to Mike Brush for digging up this photo ) - Paul Cripple #TBT #ReaganYouth #JackDePalma #Degenerated #DaveInsurgent #PaulCripple #BeastieBoys #TheMisfits #IHaveStoriesForDays https://www.instagram.com/p/BtkW-M5gxfJ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=mg0oc6orqs84
