6824. Beast Boy had always wanted to be an actor, like his mother Marie and his foster mother Rita, but he had often been held back by self-doubts stemming from his green skin and pointed ears. Despite this, soon after the battle of Tokyo, he decided to join up with a community theater company in Jump City.
The company was putting on a production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and after several auditions Beast Boy landed the part of Puck. The Titans had never seen Gar work so hard as he did to memorize his lines, they even caught him walking around with a dictionary he would consult when he didn’t understand a line of phrase in the Shakespearean play. He would even go as far as to recite his lines in battle with super villains (Control Freak ended up getting an extra lump on the head for telling Beast Boy “Stanly Tucci’s 'Puck’ is better”).
Come opening night, the show was sold out, everyone around the city had heard that 'A Titan would be in the show’ and that generated quite the buzz. The Titans came in civilian disguise and even the Doom Patrol was in attendance. That night, Gar had no apprehension about his appearance, people didn’t see a green skinned boy with pointed ears, they just saw Puck. By the end of the show, the Titans had almost forgotten he was even playing the character. Afterwards, The Titans and the Patrol all went out for pizza. Cyborg had recorded the whole performance, for posterity, of course, but also, to e-mail the other Titans around the world. The e-mail description read: Re: BB in body glitter and tights.
